3. Once the connection is built up successfully, the HyperTerm will
receive a 10-byte (ASCII) string (8 characters plus a
carriage-return and a line-feed) indicating the current state of all
8 DIO lines, “11111111” for example.
The string is formatted as the following table:

4. In HyperTerm, click File, Properties, Settings, ASCII Setup, enable
both Send line ends with line feeds and Echo typed characters
locally options to make the test screen more readable.
