This document provides the owner's instruction manual for the FAGOR MWB17AEGX and MWB23AEGX 17/23 Litre Electronic Microwave ovens. It covers installation, safety instructions, operation, and maintenance.
Function Description
The FAGOR microwave ovens are designed for household use for heating food and beverages using electromagnetic energy. They offer various cooking modes including:
- Single Button Heating: A quick start function for simple heating tasks, such as a glass of water, operating at 100% power for 1 minute with a single press of the "Start" button.
- Microwave Heating:
- Quick Microwave Heating (100% power): Allows setting a specific cooking time at full power.
- Manual-Operation Microwave Heating: Provides flexibility to select from five power levels (100%, 70%, 50%, 30%, 10%) and set a cooking time up to 60 minutes.
- Auto Weight Defrost: Automatically adjusts power level and time based on the food type and weight. It supports defrosting meat (up to 2 kg) and seafood (up to 1 kg).
- Auto Menu: Pre-programmed settings for various food types, where the user only needs to select the food type and weight, and the oven automatically adjusts power and time.
- Grill: Available in two patterns:
- Pattern 1: 85% grill power (G-1)
- Pattern 2: 50% grill power (G-2)
The grill function has a maximum cooking time of 60 minutes. During grilling, the food is heated by a metal heater, not microwave energy. The cooking process includes a pause after the first half, prompting the user to turn the food over for even cooking. If the food is not turned, cooking resumes after a 1-minute pause.
- Combination Cooking: Offers two options for combined microwave and grill cooking:
- Option 1 (C-1): 55% microwave + 45% grill
- Option 2 (C-2): 30% microwave + 70% grill
- Memory Cooking Function: Allows users to store frequently used cooking programs (power and time settings) to avoid re-entering them each time. The stored program can be recalled and started with a single press of the "Memory" and then "Start" button. Note that stored programs are lost if the power supply is interrupted.
- Child-Safety-Lock: A safety feature that locks the machine to prevent accidental operation, activated and deactivated by pressing "Pause/Cancel" three times.
- Pause/Cancel: Stops the current operation or cancels any set program.

Usage Features
- Installation: The oven must be placed on a horizontal surface strong enough to support its weight, away from high temperatures and steam. Adequate air circulation is required, with 10 cm space at the back, 15 cm at both sides, and 30 cm from the top. The oven feet must not be removed, and air vents should not be blocked.
- Earthing: The appliance must be earthed. The plug socket should be easily accessible, and the wiring must conform to the specified color codes (Green-and-yellow for Earth, Blue for Neutral, Brown for Live).
- Utensils: Only microwave-safe utensils should be used. Metal pans, dishes with metal handles or trim, paper-covered wire twist-ties, melamine dishes, Centura Tableware, Corelle Livingware closed handle cups, and containers with restricted openings (like pop bottles) are not suitable. Microwave-specific thermometers are recommended.
- Food Preparation:
- Always use the glass tray, roller arms, coupling, and roller track.
- Do not operate the oven empty.
- Do not use the oven cavity for storage.
- Pierce foods surrounded by membranes (e.g., egg yolks, potatoes) several times with a fork.
- Liquids and other foods should not be heated in sealed containers.
- Stir or shake contents of feeding bottles and baby food jars and check temperature before consumption.
- Eggs in their shell and whole hard-boiled eggs should not be heated in microwave ovens.
- Exercise caution with beverages due to delayed eruptive boiling.
- Allow food/liquid to stand for a few minutes and stir to distribute heat evenly after cooking.
- Be mindful of foods with high fat or sugar content, as they heat quickly.
- Cooking utensils may become hot due to heat transfer from food; use potholders if necessary.
- Do not overcook food.
- Remove wire twist-ties from bags before placing them in the oven.
- In case of fire inside the oven cavity, keep the door closed, turn off the oven, or shut off power at the fuse/circuit breaker panel.
- Safety: Close supervision is necessary when children use the appliance, especially in combination mode due to high temperatures. If the door or door seals are damaged, the oven must not be operated until repaired by a competent person. It is hazardous for anyone other than a competent person to carry out service or repair operations involving the removal of covers that protect against microwave energy exposure.
- Radio Interference: Microwave ovens may cause interference with radio, TV, or similar equipment. To reduce interference, clean the oven door and sealing surface, place the radio/TV as far away as possible, and use a properly installed antenna for strong signal reception.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning:
- Always unplug the oven before cleaning.
- Clean the inside of the oven (walls, door, door seal, cavity) with a damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive soaps or detergents. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasives.
- Clean the outside oven surface with a damp cloth. Prevent water from seeping into ventilation openings.
- Clean the Control Panel with a soft, damp cloth; do not use detergents, abrasives, or spray-on cleaners.
- Wipe away steam accumulation on or around the oven door with a soft cloth.
- The glass tray can be removed and washed in warm sudsy water or a dishwasher.
- Regularly clean the roller ring and oven cavity floor with mild detergent, water, or window cleaner to avoid excessive noise and food deposits. Ensure the roller ring is replaced in the proper position.
- Odor Removal: Combine a cup of water with the juice and skin of one lemon in a deep microwaveable bowl, microwave for 5 minutes, then wipe thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
- Light Replacement: If the oven light needs replacement, consult a dealer.
- Troubleshooting (Before calling for service):
- If the oven does not perform or the display is off, check if it is securely plugged in. If not, unplug, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in. Also, check for blown circuit fuses or tripped main circuit breakers and test the outlet with another appliance.
- If microwave power does not function, check if the timer is set and if the door is securely closed to engage safety interlocks.
