This document is the operator's manual for the Duracraft 1650 pressure washer, which operates at 1650 PSI. It includes instructions for installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as warranty information.
Function Description:
The Duracraft 1650 is a pressure washer designed for cleaning tasks using high-pressure water. It features a stop device that senses when the trigger on the gun is released, opening the power circuit to the motor and stopping the unit. An overload protection device automatically shuts off the motor in case of excessive current or overheating, resetting itself after a short period. The unit is equipped with a Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) built into the power cord plug for additional protection against electric shock. It allows for the application of cleaning chemicals through a detergent suction assembly.

Usage Features:
The pressure washer is designed for easy installation and operation.
- Installation:
- Remove the water plug and connect the high-pressure hose by inserting the fitting with the o-ring into the outlet and tightening the nut.
- Connect a garden hose (not supplied) to the water inlet connection after flushing it to remove foreign matter.
- Insert the wand into the spray gun, ensuring it is locked.
- Plug the GFCI into a power receptacle and press the reset button.
- Turn on the water supply.
- Start-up Procedure:
- Ensure water supply is connected and turned on.
- Confirm the unit is plugged in and the GFCI has been reset.
- Release the gun safety lock.
- Squeeze the trigger on the gun to allow air to escape until a steady stream of water emerges.
- Remove any dirt from the gun outlet and wand connector.
- Insert the wand into the gun's quick connect coupling, pushing firmly and twisting 1/4 turn to lock.
- Press the ON/OFF button to start the pressure washer.
- Adjustable Spray Nozzle: The black nozzle can be turned to adjust the spray from a fan to a jet in the high-pressure position. A 20° spray angle is recommended for most cleaning to avoid surface damage. The pressure increases as the wand moves closer to the surface.
- High-Pressure/Low-Pressure: The grey collar on the nozzle allows switching between high-pressure (for cleaning) and low-pressure (for detergent application). Do not adjust the nozzle while the trigger is squeezed.
- Turbo Spray Nozzle: Provides maximum cleaning effect. The spray wand should be kept 6-8 inches from the cleaning surface. This nozzle is not adjustable.
- Chemical Use: Cleaning chemicals recommended for pressure washers can be used. Fill the reservoir with the cleaning solution. For chemical application, move the main collar to the low-pressure position. After chemical use, flush the reservoir with clear water. Chemicals will not be discharged when the adjustable nozzle is in the high-pressure position.
- Cleaning Techniques: Detergents can be used for more effective cleaning. Apply solution to a dry surface, horizontally from bottom to top on vertical surfaces to avoid streaking. Allow detergent to remain for a short time before rinsing. Rinse with clean water under high-pressure, from bottom up then top down on vertical surfaces, holding the nozzle 6-8 inches from the surface at a 45° angle.
- End of Operation:
- After using detergent, run in low-pressure with clean water to flush the detergent tank.
- Stop the unit by pressing the ON/OFF button.
- Disconnect the electrical plug.
- Turn off the water supply and depressurize the unit by squeezing the trigger.
- Disconnect the high-pressure hose and water inlet hose.
Maintenance Features:
- Connections: Regularly clean and lubricate connections on hoses, gun, and spray wand with non-water soluble grease to prevent leakage and damage to o-rings.
- Nozzle: Lubricate the high-pressure/low-pressure adjustment of the nozzle regularly with non-water soluble grease. If the nozzle clogs, pump pressure will be too high, requiring immediate cleaning. Clear the nozzle by flushing it backwards with water.
- Lubrication System: The pressure washer has a permanent lubrication system, so conventional oil checks and changes are not necessary. A small amount of oil leakage is normal.
- Water Screen: The water inlet screen protects the pump. It must be kept clean to prevent restricted water flow and pump damage. To clean, remove the quick-connect and filter screen from the pump inlet, backflush the screen, and immediately replace them.
- Cooling System: Air vents must be kept clean and free of obstructions to ensure proper air cooling of the motor during operation. Prevent water from penetrating the vents to minimize damage and electric shock risk.
- Storage: Always store the pressure washer in a location where the temperature will not fall below 32°F (0°C) to prevent permanent pump damage from freezing. If storage below 32°F is unavoidable, drain all water from the wand and hose by squeezing the trigger. Disconnect the high-pressure hose. Restart the unit briefly (about 5 seconds) until no more water discharges from the high-pressure outlet.
- After Extended Storage: Scale deposits may form in the pump if not used for some time, causing the motor to run stiff or not start. Remove scale deposits by connecting the machine to the water supply, rinsing thoroughly (without plugging into an electrical outlet), and then connecting the high-pressure hose to the gun and locking the safety device. To avoid electrical overloading, turn the motor shaft manually by hand (clockwise several times using a 5mm hexagon socket wrench through the fan cover).
- Limited Warranty: One year on the machine, 90 days on the gun+hose, and 90 days on the GFCI, effective from the date of retail purchase. Non-transferable. Applies only to consumer applications, not commercial or rental.
- What is Covered: Replacement parts and labor.
- What is Not Covered: Nozzles (normal maintenance), transportation charges, damages from abuse, accident, improper repair, lack of maintenance, improper chemicals, non-compliance with manual instructions, sales outside US/Canada, consequential/incidental damages, or property damage. Damage from not observing inlet water pressure (20-100 PSI), inlet water temperature (not exceeding 90°F), or storage below 32°F is not covered.
