Preparing the TreeSonic Timer for Work

Connecting and Disconnecting Transducers

Connect start sensor to timer, ensure proper orientation and lock connector. Handle metal part only.

Identifying Start and Stop Transducers

Identify start (long, flat) and stop (short, cube) transducers. Do not interchange them.

Operating the TreeSonic Timer

Powering On and Reading Display

Hit start transducer to power on. '9999' indicates success; next hit shows transit time.

Automatic Power Off Function

Unit automatically powers off after 30 seconds of inactivity to save battery power.

Recommended Measurement Setup

Transducer Spacing and Marking

Recommended distance between transducers is 1 meter, marked on the start transducer cable.

Data Averaging and Accuracy

Average 3 readouts; standard deviation should be less than +/- 1.5 microseconds.

Safety Precautions

Handling Sharp Spikes and Probes

Handle transducers with care due to sharp spikes. Use protective tube. If probe falls, step back.

Maintenance and Battery Replacement

Battery Replacement Procedure

Replace battery when 'BAT LOW' appears or unit auto-shuts off. Open compartment with screwdriver or door.
