Usage Features

The G1532 grill is designed for straightforward operation and integration into a commercial kitchen.

  • Mounting Options: It can be installed on bench legs, a floor stand, or a wall bracket, providing flexibility for different kitchen configurations. The manual provides detailed assembly instructions for each option.
  • Gas Control: The appliance features a gas control tap for adjusting the flame. Natural gas models include a spring-loaded governor for pressure regulation, while propane models do not require one.
  • Burner Aeration Adjustment: Burner aeration can be adjusted via a screw at the burner inlet to ensure stable flame cones and satisfactory cross-lighting on both high and low settings, preventing yellow tipping or lift-off.
  • Removable Components: Key components like the brander drip trough, brander plate, grid shelf, and drip tray are supplied loose and are easily removable for cleaning and maintenance.
  • Refractory Plaques: The grill uses refractory plaques placed on support bars, which are crucial for heat distribution and cooking performance. These are designed to be properly seated against the burner.
  • User Instructions: A user instruction manual is provided to ensure the operator understands lighting procedures, cleaning, and correct use, as well as the location of the isolating cock for emergencies.

Maintenance Features

The manual outlines several maintenance procedures to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the G1532 Steakhouse Grill.

  • Competent Person Servicing: Installation and servicing must be carried out by a competent person in accordance with Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations and other national regulations.
  • Preventative Maintenance Contract: Falcon Foodservice Equipment recommends a Maintenance Contract with FALCON SERVICE LINE for regular adjustments and repairs, ensuring maximum performance.
  • Soundness Checking: After installation and any servicing, all integral gas-carrying joints and components must be tested for soundness using a suitable leak detection fluid.
  • Panel Removal: The enamelled front facia, top panel, inner top panel, side, and rear panels can be removed to access internal components for servicing.
  • Plaque Replacement: Plaques can be replaced by reaching inside the grill compartment, pushing them up to dislodge them from their seating, and carefully positioning new ones against the burner.
  • Burner Removal and Cleaning: Burners can be removed by undoing fixings, disconnecting pilot pipes and thermocouples, and lifting them clear of the injector. Burners require periodic cleaning to ensure ports are free from blockage, using wire brushing or a suitable metal instrument. After washing, they must be completely dry before re-fitting.
  • Injector Cleaning/Replacement: Injectors can be cleaned with a wooden splinter or fuse wire, but hard metal implements must be avoided to prevent damage to the orifice. Injectors can also be replaced if necessary.
  • Flame Failure Thermocouple Replacement: The thermocouple can be replaced by removing the RH outer side panel and undoing nuts securing it to the SIT pilot bracket and the gas tap.
  • Gas Valve Servicing: The gas valve can be removed by pulling off control knobs, removing the front facia panel, and disconnecting the burner feed pipe and pilot tubing. The control tap can be re-greased by carefully withdrawing the plate, operating spindle, rod, spring, brass washer, and sealing washer, cleaning the plug and control body, and applying approved heat-resistant grease.
  • Governor Servicing (Natural Gas models): The governor requires little servicing but should be checked for blockages in the air breather hole, and the valve, seating, and diaphragm should be clean and in good condition. Gas pressure must be re-checked after servicing.
  • Gas Conversion: Detailed instructions are provided for converting the appliance between natural gas and propane, including changing injectors, adjusting inlet pressure, adjusting aeration, and changing the data plate.
  • Spare Parts: A comprehensive list of spare parts with their respective codes is provided, including plaques, thermocouples, pilot burner bodies, pilot orifices, governors, gas controls, knobs, grid shelf components, injectors, brander plates, and complete burners. When ordering, the appliance TYPE and SERIAL No. from the data badge must be quoted.
