wear and tear and checking that they function

• After completing 3,000 Km
Arrange for the following parts to be checked:
- Hub.
- Steering unit.
- Pedals.

sheaths must not come into contact with lubri-

3. CLEANING YOUR BICYCLE
Proceed as follows:
- Disconnect the battery pack and remove it;
remove the display (see paragraph “3” - Sec-
tion “06”).
- Using a delicate water jet, remove as much dirt
(soil, small stones, sand, grass, etc.) as possible.
- Allow the bicycle to dry.
- Spray the entire bicycle with a suitable deter-
gent.
- Carefully spray every part of the bicycle using a
delicate water jet.
You may also wish to use a sponge or a cloth
during this phase
- Allow the bicycle to dry.
- Cleaning and lubricating the chain:
· pour a few drops of bicycle chain detergent
onto clean, lint-free cotton cloth.
· rub the cloth along the chain.
· feed the chain forward so that the cloth
comes into contact with its entire length.
· request a helper to raise the rear wheel so
that it is not in contact with the ground, then
rotate the pedal crank very slowly in the di-
rection of travel in order to distribute the de-
tergent over the entire length of the chain.
Make sure that the chain is fully lubricated.
· Allow the detergent to evaporate for approx.
1 hour.
· Apply a small quantity of bicycle chain lubri-
cant to the chain links.
Using too much lubricant, or un-
suitable products, may result in
dripping onto the brake disks,
signicantly reducing the bicycle
braking eciency.
• After using your bicycle in very wet
conditions
Clean and lubricate the following parts:
- Chain.
- Sprockets.
- Teeth.
- Gearwheel system.
- Brakes (with the exception of the disk surfac-
es).
It is important to bear in mind that some
lubricants and maintenance products
may not be suitable for use on your bi-
cycle.
Contact your specialized vendor for
more information.
Using unsuitable lubricants or mainte-
nance products may damage or com-
promise the correct operation of your
bicycle.
Ensure that brake shoes, brake disks and
the braking surfaces on the wheel rims
do not come into contact with mainte-
nance products or lubricating oils, as
this would reduce the braking eciency
of your bicycle.
Failure to inspect and repair dam-
ages to your bicycle resulting from
a fall, or failure to carry out such
operations correctly, may result in
hazardous riding conditions, fur-
ther falls and accidents.
Do not hesitate to return your bicy-
cle to the vendor or take it to a spe-
cialized bicycle workshop for the
necessary checks and inspections.
This is the only way to be certain of
identifying and repairing worn and
damaged parts safely.
