A.4.1.4.
Hoppers
It is the section ensuring the distribution of the seeds
and fertilizer inside the machine on the field to be
cultivated at desired amount (spread norm) and row
spacing.
It provides controlled discharge of the seed and
fertilizer entering through free flow according to the
running speed of the machine. With this aspect, the
hopper system can be likened to a funnel of which the
discharge rate can be adjusted as desired.
It consists of slide cover, sheave (gear), throttle, valve
springs, stroke shaft, throttle control pin and seed cell
parts which play role in performing its duty.
1 seed and 1 fertilizer hopper for each seeding tooth
are equipped in your grain drill. (Only seed hopper is
equipped in the models without fertilizer)
The working principle and adjustments of the hoppers
will be addressed in detail in “C.1.2. Hopper
