STATIC WEIGHT TEST
1. Introduction
This procedure allows the static testing of the force
measured by Assioma and is useful if you suspect a
constant under- or overestimation of the power values.
If necessary, the procedure allows automatic correction of
the “Power scale factor” parameter.
2. Important!
This procedure is only for experienced users who
have appropriate instruments available.
• We recommend you perform the test only if you
notice a constant over- or underestimation of power
with respect to the usual values or compared to
another power meter with an accuracy of at least
±2%.
• As it is important to know the value of the weight,
the hook, and the chain used in the test with a
higher accuracy than 0.5%, a precision scale is
required.
• The bike must be perfectly vertical and still during
the measurement.
• We suggest that you print this PDF and follow the
instructions with the utmost care.
3. Preparation
• Assioma needs to have been installed correctly on
the bike, and a complete training session needs to
have been performed (on rollers or on the road),
including a few sprints or strong accelerations, for
proper adjustment of the pedals.
• Assioma must be updated to rmware version 3.00
or later.
• Install the Assioma app on your Android or iOS
smartphone in version 1.2.0 or later.
• Prepare a weight (between 8 and 25 kg) and a chain
with a hook to x it to the central section of the
pedal body. The total weight of these elements
combined must be measured with a scale that
ensures a degree of accuracy of at least 0.5%.
• Prepare a stationary roller and two elevated
supports for the bike so that the weight attached to
the pedal can hang down freely without touching the
ground.
4. Procedure
4.1. Step A
• Place the bike (perfectly vertical) on the supports as
shown in the gure.
