Overview

The FCAR Truck Scanner F802 is a commercial vehicle diagnostic tool based on a specialized Android tablet. It integrates standard OBD diagnostic protocols, including SAE J1939, SAE J1708, SAE J1850 PWM, SAE J1850 VPW, ISO 14230-4, ISO 9141-2, ISO 15765-4, and ISO 27145-4. The device classifies commercial vehicles by type, offering a clear operation interface for convenient diagnosis.

Function Description:

The device's main diagnostic interface provides several key options:

  • ECU Information: Reads and displays control system module information detected from the ECU.
  • Read Fault Code: Retrieves and displays fault code information from the vehicle system module.
  • Erase Fault Code: Clears fault codes and freeze frame data retrieved from the vehicle system module.
  • Live Data: Reads and displays real-time operation parameters of the current system module.
  • DPF Regeneration: Allows for DPF regeneration and maintenance. The screen displays a list of vehicle models, and operations are guided by on-screen prompts. The available vehicle models depend on the specific device model purchased.
  • Service Reset: Resets service lamps on the instrument cluster, designed to alert the driver when vehicle service is due.
  • Pin Detect: Measures the voltage of the 16 PINs of the OBD diagnostic interface and identifies the pin positions of the K-line and CAN line.
  • Data Management: Used to save and view test reports, screenshots, and problem feedback files. Most files are generated through toolbar operations on the vehicle diagnosis interface.
  • Diagnostic Software Upgrade: Connects to a wireless network to upgrade diagnostic software and improve product functions. The system automatically searches for the latest update program.
  • Settings: Allows adjustment of various system settings, including Wi-Fi connection, brightness, volume, user information, storage management, language, unit, date & time, and device information.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Horn: Support
  • USB Interface: Type C interface
  • Diagnose Interface: DB15 interface
  • Operating Voltage: DC 10V~36V/3A
  • Operating Temperature: -20°C~60°C
  • Storage Temperature: -30°C~70°C

Usage Features:

  • Power On/Off: The device can be powered on by connecting the main diagnostic test line to the vehicle's DB-15 interface (which automatically starts if the vehicle diagnostic seat provides power, otherwise a cigarette lighter or battery clamp can be used) or by connecting the power adapter. To power off, all diagnostic items should be stopped, and the device returned to the main interface before disconnecting the diagnostic line.
  • Vehicle Diagnostic Preparation:
    1. Turn off the ignition.
    2. Locate the vehicle's diagnostic interface (usually on the driver's side; refer to the vehicle maintenance manual if not found).
    3. Insert one end of the main diagnostic test line into the device's DB-15 connector and tighten the screws. Connect the other end to the vehicle's diagnostic interface.
    4. For standard OBD-II interfaces, only the integrated main test line OBD connector is needed.
    5. For non-standard OBD-II interfaces, the main test line must be connected with the corresponding special connector. Some vehicles may require power from other vehicle power sources.
  • User Information and Activation: Products are not activated when leaving the factory. Activation requires connecting to an effective Wi-Fi network and accessing the "Activation" menu within settings. Users can also set personal information like name, telephone, email, and address.
  • Storage Management: The device allows for cleaning up useless data with one click to free up space and improve system stability.
  • System Settings: Users can adjust Wi-Fi connection, screen brightness, volume, language, unit (metric or English), date/time (automatic network synchronization or manual), and view device information (model, version, serial number). A reset option is available to restore original settings, deleting all stored data including activation and model data, requiring re-activation and model data package download.

Maintenance Features:

  • Software Updates: The device supports online software upgrades via Wi-Fi, ensuring access to the latest diagnostic programs and improved functionalities.
  • Troubleshooting (FAQ):
    • Activation/Update Issues: If activation or updates fail, users are advised to check their network connection via the "Settings" / "Wi-Fi" menu to ensure a successful connection.
    • "ECU no response" Error: If the tool cannot diagnose the vehicle and shows "ECU no response," users should perform a voltage test via "Pin Detect." If the voltage is abnormal, the hardware should be checked first.
  • Feedback System: The device includes a feedback function to report problems to the company's service system, especially when direct system access is not possible.

The device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules, ensuring it does not cause harmful interference and accepts any interference received. Users are advised to consult the dealer or an experienced technician for assistance with interference issues. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the responsible party could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
