The FeelGoodEase Cold Therapy System is a medical device designed for physical antipyretic and cold therapy on specific parts of the human body surface. It is intended for repeated use and is available in models: Cooler - KRP/LFQ-CO-M and Knee Cuff – KRP/LFQ-H2O-M.
Function Description:
The system provides targeted cold therapy, which can be applied with or without a compression pump. When used without the compression pump, the cooler is positioned higher than the knee wrap to allow gravity to facilitate water flow. When used with the compression pump, the pump actively circulates cold water through the cryo cuff, enhancing the therapeutic effect through compression. The device aims to reduce pain and swelling by applying cold to the affected area.
Important Technical Specifications:
The Cold Therapy System consists of several key components:
- Cooler (KRP/LFQ-CO-M): This is the main unit that holds the ice and water. It is constructed from urethane foam and high-density polyethylene plastic, ensuring good insulation to maintain cold temperatures.
- Cryo Cuff (KRP/LFQ-H2O-M): This is the part that wraps around the body, specifically designed for the knee in this model. It is made of polyurethane-coated nylon, providing durability and comfort.
- Compression Pump: This optional component provides active compression, circulating cold water through the cryo cuff.
- Blue Hose (105cm): Connects the cooler to the cryo cuff, allowing the flow of cold water.
- Air Tube (55cm): Used when the compression pump is in operation to facilitate air circulation.
- Power Adapter (300cm): Provides power to the compression pump.
- Insulation Disk: Placed inside the cooler on top of the ice and water to enhance insulation.
- Pump Holder: Secures the compression pump to the outside of the cooler.
- Quick Connect: Allows for easy attachment and detachment of the blue hose to the cryo cuff.
The compression pump features a display and control buttons:
- Display: Shows the current settings.
- TIME Button: Used to set the duration of the therapy.
- Increase (+) and Decrease (-) Buttons: Adjust the time setting.
- ON/OFF Button: Powers the pump on and off.
The pump offers selectable time durations for therapy: 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, or 90 seconds. For higher compression, a duration of 70 seconds or more is recommended.
Usage Features:
The system can be used in two primary modes:
Without the Compression Pump (Gravity-Fed):
- Step 1: Connect the blue hose to the cooler.
- Step 2: Open the cooler lid.
- Step 3: Fill the cooler up to the indicated maximum line using a combination of water and ice cubes.
- Step 4: Place the insulation disk inside the cooler on top of the ice and water.
- Step 5: Close the cooler lid.
- Step 6: Apply the cryo cuff to the knee. A medical isolation pad (not included) should be placed between the intended area and the cuff. Position the cuff on the thigh, thread the straps, and secure them snugly. The cuff can be placed on either the front or back of the thigh.
- Step 7: Attach the quick connect side of the blue hose to the cryo cuff. Open the cooler air vent.
- Important Note: When using without the pump, ensure the cooler is positioned higher than the knee wrap to allow gravity to drive the water flow.
With the Compression Pump:
- Steps 1-6: Follow the same initial steps as above (connecting hose, filling cooler, applying cuff).
- Step 7: Wrap the pump holder on the outside of the cooler.
- Step 8: Put the pump into the pump holder.
- Step 9: Attach the quick connect side of the blue hose to the cryo cuff.
- Step 10: Connect the air tube with the pump and cooler by rotating the tube slightly.
- Step 11: Plug the power supply into a wall socket.
- Operation: Turn on the compression pump by pressing the ON/OFF button. Adjust the time duration using the TIME, Increase (+), and Decrease (-) buttons. Turn off the pump by pressing the ON/OFF button again.
Rechilling Water:
To re-chill the water in the cuff, open the cooler lid and remove the insulation disk. Drain the water from the cuff into the cooler by lifting the cuff higher and pressing the quick connect button on the blue hose (cuff end). Replace the insulation disk, close the lid, and wait one or two minutes for the water to mix with the ice and re-chill. For best results, keep the cooler at the same level or higher than the knee wrap.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: The surface of the cuff should be wiped with alcohol weekly for disinfection. The tube and cooler should be rinsed with water.
- Storage: After disinfection, cleaning, and drying, store the components flat for later use. After each use, completely drain the water from the cuff, tube, and cooler. To drain the tube, lift it while pressing the quick connect tip. Store the cooler with its lid closed to allow it to dry.
- Environmental Conditions: The product should be stored in a well-ventilated room at a temperature between -10 °C and 30 °C. Ensure that the relative humidity does not exceed 80%.
Warnings and Precautions:
- This product should not come into direct contact with human skin and can be used repeatedly.
- Use the device as directed by a medical professional.
- Use with caution if allergic to the product material.
- The device is non-sterile.
- The product complies with FC, CE, and FDA standards.
