Overview

This document describes the FERREX Petrol High Pressure Cleaner, model HCP3000, a robust cleaning device designed for various applications.

Function Description:

The FERREX HCP3000 is a petrol-powered high-pressure cleaner primarily intended for cleaning machines, vehicles, structures, tools, facades, terraces, and gardening tools. It offers two main cleaning modes:

  • Low-pressure jet with cleaning agent: Suitable for tasks requiring a cleaning solution, such as washing vehicles or structures.
  • High-pressure jet without cleaning agent: Ideal for heavy-duty cleaning of surfaces like facades and garden tools where only water pressure is needed. The device is designed for outdoor use due to its petrol engine, which emits exhaust gases. It features a hand spray gun with interchangeable nozzles to adapt to different cleaning tasks and pressure requirements. Safety mechanisms like an overpressure valve and a thermal valve are integrated to protect the pump and ensure safe operation. The overpressure valve prevents excessive working pressure when the spray gun is closed, while the thermal valve protects the pump from overheating during circuit operation.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Engine Type: DHP212
  • Displacement: 212 cm³
  • Rated output: 4.3 (5.8) kW (hp)

  • Max. water supply temperature: 40 °C
  • Max. water supply pressure: 0.5 (5) MPa (bar)
  • Rated pressure (pump): 22.1 (221) MPa (bar)
  • Max. allowable pressure (pump): 24.1 (241) MPa (bar)
  • Rated flow (pump): 9.5 l/min
  • Max. flow rate (pump): 10 l/min
  • Thermal valve opening temperature: 55 - 60 °C

Usage Features:

The HCP3000 is designed for user convenience with several features:

  • Easy Assembly: The bow-type handle, spraying nozzle unit, transport holder, and wheels are designed for straightforward installation.
  • Nozzle Selection Guide: The device comes with four interchangeable nozzles (red, green, white, black) for different pressure and spray patterns:
    • 0° Red (Hard Jet): For concentrated, high-impact cleaning.
    • 25° Green (Soft Jet): For general cleaning tasks.
    • 40° White (Soft Jet): For wider coverage and gentler cleaning.
    • Soap Black (Low Pressure/Cleaning Nozzle): For applying cleaning agents. Users are advised to maintain a spraying distance of 20-60 cm from the surface to prevent damage, and at least 30 cm for car tyres.
  • Engine Start-up: Features a pull cable starter and a choke lever for both cold and warm starts. The on/off switch controls engine operation.
  • Water Supply: Can be connected to an external water supply (garden hose) or can self-suction from open tanks/containers using optional accessories. It's crucial to ensure the inlet sieve is clean and intact.
  • Cleaning Agent Application: The device has a dedicated cleaning agent tank (15) and a black nozzle for applying cleaning solutions. Users must only use manufacturer-approved cleaning agents and follow their instructions.
  • Safety Interlocks: The trigger lock on the hand spray gun prevents unintentional operation.
  • Transport: Equipped with wheels and a bow-type handle for easy movement. Specific instructions are provided for preparing the device for transport, including draining fuel and oil, and securing components.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the HCP3000:

  • Engine Oil:
    • Before first use: Engine oil (SAE10W30 or SAE10W40) must be filled.
    • Before each start-up: Check oil level using the dipstick (12.1).
    • Every 50 operating hours (or end of season): Change engine oil. The manual provides detailed steps for draining old oil and refilling.
    • Do not overfill or operate without visible oil. Milky oil indicates water contamination and requires customer service.
  • Air Filter (21): Clean regularly, replace if necessary. Instructions include removing, cleaning with compressed air, and re-installing.
  • Spark Plug (31):
    • After 20 operating hours (first time): Check for contamination and clean with a copper wire brush.
    • Every 50 operating hours: Service the spark plug.
  • High-Pressure Hose (2): Check for damage before each use and replace immediately if damaged. Only manufacturer-recommended hoses should be used.
  • Nozzle Cleaning: If pulsating pressure occurs, the nozzle (3) should be cleaned using the nozzle cleaner needle (34) or a paper clip.
  • Water Draining: In winter, water must be drained from the pump and lines to prevent freezing damage.
  • Cleaning Agent Tank (15): Must be emptied and cleaned with clear water after each use with cleaning agents to prevent residue buildup and damage.
  • General Cleaning: Keep protective devices, air vents, and engine housing free of dust and dirt. Clean the device with a damp cloth and soft soap; avoid chemical cleaning agents.
  • Fasteners: Check fasteners between the engine and frame for cracks every 50 operating hours.
  • Storage: Store the device in a dark, dry, frost-free, and well-ventilated place, inaccessible to children. Optimal storage temperature is between 5 and 30°C. Prepare for storage by draining fuel and oil.

The manual also emphasizes critical safety instructions, including warnings about carbon monoxide, flammable fuels, hot surfaces, high-pressure jets, and the importance of wearing protective gear. It highlights that repairs should only be carried out by authorized service centers.
