  If your Ferris Spreader doesn't start, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the fuel tank has an adequate fuel level by adding fuel to the fuel tank. A clogged fuel line could also be the culprit, so clean the fuel line. Another cause may be contamination in the fuel tank, in that case, you should clean out the fuel tank and add fresh fuel. Finally, check that the choke setting is correct for the starting conditions; cold starts need the choke activated, while warm starts may not.

  If the electrical system on your Ferris Spreader isn't working right, start by cleaning the battery terminals. If the battery is discharged or dead, recharge or replace it. Check for loose or broken wiring, replacing any damaged wires and tightening loose connections. Also, look for any other electrical wiring damage and repair it. Check the spark plug(s), clean and gap or replace. Finally, check if a fuse is blown and replace it if necessary.

  An uneven spreader pattern or a non-operating spreader on your Ferris Spreader could be due to a few reasons. Check if the gate opening at the bottom of the hopper is blocked. If so, remove the material and dislodge any clumps around the opening, and inspect the agitator wire for wear, damage, or if it's missing. Also, the spread control baffle might be incorrectly positioned; follow the procedure in the Calibration section of this manual for centering the spread pattern. Ensure the input shaft of the platter gearbox is turning freely by hand. Inspect the gear motor fuse located under the console to ensure it is not blown.
