To remove the cover plate, unscrew the Jackman
screws from both sides and slide the cover plate out.
Cartridge Regulator Replacement and Flow
Adjustment:
Turn off water to the fixture and depress button on
cartridge regulator to drain water left in the line.
Using the spanner wrench or needle nose pliers,
unscrew the brass regulator retaining ring.
Gently wiggle cartridge back and forth to remove it
from the brass valve assembly body.
Check to ensure that the old neoprene seal was also
removed. Install new neoprene seal on the new
cartridge regulator and install new assembly into the
valve body, ensuring inlet and outlet holes on the
cartridge are lined up and the cartridge is seated
properly in the valve body.
Reinstall the regulator retaining ring and tighten using
the spanner wrench or needle nose pliers.
Turn on water to fixture and test for flow and leaks by
pushing plunger with flat screwdriver.
Adjust the flow by turning the white screw head on the
cartridge regulator. Turn it clockwise to decrease flow
and counterclockwise to increase flow.
Sensor Adjustment:
To adjust the distance of the sensor intensity, turn
yellow phillips head screw on control module circuit
board clockwise to lengthen distance and counter
clockwise to shorten it.
Bottle Counter Reset:
To reset the bottle counter, press and hold the black
reset button (see diagram above for location) for a few
seconds while passing hand across the sensor.

Overview

The Filtrine Hands-Free B103 Bottle Filling Station is a sensor-activated device designed for convenient and hygienic bottle refilling. It features a hands-free operation, making it suitable for public and commercial environments where cleanliness and efficiency are paramount.

Function Description:

The B103 Bottle Filling Station dispenses water automatically when a bottle is placed within the sensor's range. The hands-free activation minimizes contact, promoting hygiene. A built-in bottle counter tracks the number of bottles filled, which can be reset as needed. The station is powered by a battery pack, ensuring operation even in locations without direct power access. Water flow is regulated by a cartridge regulator, allowing for adjustment to suit user preferences.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Source: Battery pack (4 AA lithium batteries).
  • Battery Life: Approximately 400,000 activation cycles.
  • Automatic Shutoff: 30-second automatic shutoff to prevent vandalism and water waste.
  • Bottle Counter: 3-30VDC, tracks bottle fills.
  • Control Module: Manages sensor activation, solenoid valve operation, and battery power.
  • Solenoid Valve: Controls water flow.
  • Sensor Type: Motion sensor.
  • Certifications: Filtrine is ISO 9001:2015 Certified. The product line is approved and CE Mark available. Complies with NSF/ANSI 372 (Lead-Free).

Usage Features:

  • Hands-Free Operation: The motion sensor detects the presence of a bottle, automatically initiating water flow without physical contact.
  • Bottle Counter: A digital display shows the number of bottles filled, providing useful data for usage tracking.
  • Adjustable Flow: The cartridge regulator allows users or maintenance personnel to adjust the water flow rate to their desired level. Turning the white screw head clockwise decreases flow, while turning it counterclockwise increases flow.
  • Adjustable Sensor Distance: The sensor's detection range can be customized to prevent accidental activations or to accommodate different bottle sizes. Turning the yellow Phillips head screw on the control module circuit board clockwise lengthens the distance, and counterclockwise shortens it.
  • Automatic Shutoff: The 30-second automatic shutoff feature conserves water and prevents continuous flow in case of unattended use or vandalism.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cover Plate Removal: The cover plate can be easily removed by unscrewing the Jackman screws from both sides and sliding the plate out, providing access to internal components for maintenance.
  • Cartridge Regulator Replacement:
    1. Turn off the water supply to the fixture.
    2. Depress the button on the cartridge regulator to drain residual water.
    3. Unscrew the brass regulator retaining ring using a spanner wrench or needle-nose pliers.
    4. Gently wiggle and remove the old cartridge.
    5. Ensure the old neoprene seal is removed.
    6. Install a new neoprene seal on the new cartridge regulator.
    7. Install the new cartridge into the valve body, ensuring inlet and outlet holes align and the cartridge is properly seated.
    8. Reinstall and tighten the regulator retaining ring.
    9. Turn on the water supply and test for flow and leaks by pushing the plunger with a flat screwdriver.
  • Flow Adjustment: The water flow can be adjusted by turning the white screw head on the cartridge regulator. Clockwise rotation decreases flow, and counterclockwise rotation increases flow.
  • Sensor Distance Adjustment: The sensor intensity (detection distance) can be adjusted using the yellow Phillips head screw on the control module circuit board. Clockwise rotation lengthens the distance, and counterclockwise rotation shortens it.
  • Bottle Counter Reset: To reset the bottle counter, press and hold the black reset button (located on the B103 Body) for a few seconds while passing a hand across the sensor.
  • Battery Replacement: The device uses 4 AA lithium batteries, which are housed in a battery pack. The battery pack is easily accessible for replacement.
  • Modular Design: The system is composed of several easily replaceable modules, including the battery box, control module, solenoid valve, and sensor assembly, simplifying troubleshooting and repairs.

The Filtrine Hands-Free B103 Bottle Filling Station is designed for ease of use, durability, and straightforward maintenance, ensuring a reliable and hygienic water dispensing solution.
