Overview

This document describes the Finalmouse Starlight-12, a wireless gaming mouse available in small and medium sizes. It provides instructions for setup, usage, and safety, along with details on its features and indications.

The Finalmouse Starlight-12 is designed for gaming, offering a lightweight and responsive experience. Its primary function is to provide precise cursor control and input for computer interaction, particularly in gaming environments. The mouse connects wirelessly to a computer via a dongle, ensuring a clutter-free setup. It also supports a wired mode for charging and data transfer, which can be used if preferred or when the battery is low.

The package contents include the mouse itself, a dongle for wireless connectivity, a USB charging and data cable, and a card. The mouse features a distinctive design with a perforated shell, which contributes to its lightweight nature.

Usage Features:

The mouse is equipped with several buttons for various functions:

  • Left Click: The primary button for selection and interaction.
  • Right Click: Used for context menus and secondary actions.
  • Middle Click / Scroll Wheel: The scroll wheel allows for vertical scrolling through documents and web pages, while pressing it down performs a middle-click action, often used for opening links in new tabs or other application-specific functions.
  • Browser Forward: A side button that allows users to navigate forward in web browsers or other applications that support this function.
  • Browser Back: Another side button for navigating backward in web browsers or applications.
  • DPI Button: This button allows users to cycle through different DPI (dots per inch) settings, which control the mouse's sensitivity. The available DPI settings are 400, 800, 1600, and 3200. This feature enables users to quickly adjust the cursor speed to suit different tasks or game scenarios without needing to access software settings.

Mouse Setup:

Setting up the Finalmouse Starlight-12 involves a few simple steps:

  1. Plug the charging/data cable into a PC: This cable serves both to charge the mouse and to connect the dongle.
  2. Plug the dongle into the charging/data cable: The dongle is essential for establishing the wireless connection between the mouse and the computer.
  3. Turn on the mouse: The mouse has a power switch located on its underside. The "ON" position is indicated by moving the switch down (↓), and the "OFF" position is up (↑).

For optimal wireless performance, it is recommended to use the mouse within 12-24 inches (30-61 cm) of the dongle. Additionally, to minimize interference, the mouse should be kept greater than 6 feet (1.8 meters) away from sources of 2.4GHz signals, such as Wi-Fi routers.

Maintenance Features / Indications:

The Finalmouse Starlight-12 provides clear indications regarding its power status:

  • Red periodically: This indicates low power, signaling that the mouse needs to be charged.
  • Orange: When the mouse is charging, its indicator light will be orange.
  • Green: A green light signifies that the mouse is fully charged.

When the mouse is connected in wired mode (via the USB cable), the indicator light will flash orange if it is charging, or display a solid green if it is fully charged.

Safety Information:

To ensure maximum safety and longevity of the device, users are advised to follow these guidelines:

  • If operational issues arise and troubleshooting does not resolve them, users should unplug the mouse, turn it off, and contact Finalmouse support at support@finalmouse.com. Users should not attempt to service or repair the mouse themselves.
  • The mouse should not be disassembled, nor should it be operated under abnormal current loads.
  • Any changes or modifications not explicitly approved by Finalmouse LLC could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
  • The mouse should be kept away from liquids, humidity, or moisture.
  • It should be operated only within a temperature range of 0°C (32°F) to 40°C (104°F). If the temperature exceeds these limits, the mouse should be unplugged and turned off to allow it and its environment to stabilize.

The device complies with FCC Rules (Part 15) and Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s), meaning its operation is subject to two conditions: it may not cause harmful interference, and it must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

Limitation of Liability:

Finalmouse states that it will not be liable for any lost profits, loss of information or data, special, incidental, indirect, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the distribution, sale, resale, use, or inability to use the mouse. The company's liability will not exceed the retail purchase price of the mouse.

General Terms:

The terms of use are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the mouse was purchased. If any term is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be excluded without invalidating the remaining terms. Finalmouse reserves the right to amend any term at any time without notice.
