Check chimney condition, diameter, height, and terminal position. Ensure correct flue draught.
Using steel closure plate with clean out door for chimney sweeping. Ensure airtight seals.
With clean out door. Ensure seals with fireproof lagging and infill.
Allow minimum 100mm air gap around sides/top. Keep combustible materials away. Use non-combustible hearth.
Controlled via sliding vents at bottom of door. (+) for more air, (-) for less air. Adjust by turning knob.
Controlled via sliding vent above door for clean glass and secondary combustion. Adjust left (-) or right (+).
For wood burning only. Controls flue draught. Must not be fitted when burning solid fuels.
Use riddler to ensure airflow through firebed. Insert peg into riddling rod hole and move forwards/backwards.
Check room size, chimney/flue restrictions, fuel quality, and room ventilation.
Caused by poor fuel quality or low fire. Use secondary air slide (airwash) or glass cleaner.
Check for insufficient air, full ash pan, or blocked grate. Adjust primary air slide.
Persistent fume emission must not be tolerated. Ventilate, eject fuel, check flue. Seek professional advice if needed.
Clean thoroughly, oil air slides, monitor internals. Re-clean after seasonal shutdown.
Includes baffle plate, grate, glass panel cleaning. Structural repairs by qualified engineer.
