2. INSTALLATION RESPONSIBILITIES
• You must consult with the relevant local authority having jurisdiction to determine the need
for a building permit approval process to be undertaken prior to commencing the
installation.
• This appliance must be installed by someone competent to do so, Firenzo recommend the
use of a NZ Home Heating Association, solid fuel appliance installation technician (SFAIT), or
other suitably qualified person.
• The appliance and flue system must be installed in accordance with AS/NZS 2918:2001 and
the appropriate requirements of the relevant NZ Building Code or Codes.
• The boiler connection and associated plumbing installation must comply to all relevant
AS/NZ plumbing and building codes, but to AS3500.4.1 and NZS4603 at the minimum.
• The appliance must never be used if the boiler is not connected and filled with water and
must not connect to an unvented hot water system.
• The appliance must also be installed in strict accordance with the specifications of these
installation instructions.
• The flue system must be AS/NZS 2918:2001 Appendix F tested by the flue manufacturer and
their specifications for the installation of the flue system must be adhered to.
• The appliance must not be connected to a chimney or flue system serving any other
appliance.
• This appliance has been tested to N.Z. Standards AS/NZS 2918:2001. Appendix B&E as
relevant for safety, AS/NZ 4012:2011 for efficiency and AS/NZ 4013:2011 for emissions.
• Failure to follow these instructions may void your home insurance and in certain cases void
your warranty.
• WARNING: These fires can weigh up to 210kg including packaging, please ensure adequate
precautions are in place to enable safe lifting and handling on site.
• This manual must be left with the appliance / homeowner and kept for future reference.
