Unsealed packages in the freezer may be transmitting odors, so ensure all food packaging is sealed and discard old ice cubes. The interior of the freezer might need cleaning; empty and wash the ice storage bin and clean the refrigerator. Poor taste from the incoming water supply can also cause this issue, so the filter may need changing or installing.

If it's a new installation, air in the water system could be the issue; run a quart of water through the dispenser to resolve this. The filter might be blocked and need replacing. Also, check if the dispenser lock is activated by holding down the appropriate buttons for 2 seconds. Finally, if water is frozen in the tank, increase the temperature in both the fresh food compartment and the freezer.

Check that the ice bin is correctly placed with the scoop on the right side, sitting directly under the ice maker on the top left side of the freezer. Verify that the water supply is turned on and properly connected. Check that the freezer compartment is working. Low water pressure, a kinked or squashed water line, or a clogged filter can also prevent the ice maker from working. The water filter may need replacing.
