CLEANING
THE
STYLUS
Dust
particles
often
build
up
around
the
stylus.
If
the
build-
up
becomes
excessive
it
will
result
in
noisy
sound
reproduc-
tion
and
will
eventually
shorten
the
lives
of
both
the
record
and
the
stylus.
Should
this
occur,
do
not
remove
the
dust
with
your
fingers
or
a
tool.
Lift
the
tonearm
by
its
handle
and
blow
the
dust
away
or
use
a
stylus
brush.
REPLACING
THE
STYLUS
For
distortion-free
sound
reproduction,
replace
the
stylus
after
1000
to
2000
LP
plays.
To
remove
the
old
stylus,
pull
the
stylus
down
and
then
forward,
away
from
the
tonearm
as
shown
in
Fig.1.
To
install
a
new
stylus,
insert
the
stylus
in
it’s
proper
place
until
a
click
is
heard.

REPLACING
THE
CARTRIDGE
Insert
a
small
screwdriver
on
the
front
retaining
clip
and
twist
it
a
little
until
it
releases
the
cartridge
assembly
as
shown
in
Fig.2.
Unplug
the
four
wires
from
cartridge.
Plug
the
four
wires
into
the
replacement
cartridge.
Be
sure
to
plug
the
wires
(color
coded)
into
the
terminals
as
shown
in
Fig.3.
Place
the
lip
of
the
cartridge
(located
at
the
rear
of
the
cartridge)
in
the
slot
in
the
tonearm
and
push
the
cartridge
up
until
it
clicks
into
place.
