Tank Precharge Settings for use with
PENTEK INTELLIDRIVE Variable
Frequency Drives
Set the pressure tank’s pre-charge to 70% of the system
operating pressure. When using an external set point as
well as an internal set point, pre-charge the tank to 70%
of the lower set point of the two. Some applications may
require a different percentage when figuring the set point.
Refer to your PENTEK INTELLIDRIVE operator’s manual
for additional information.
Standard Tank Replacement
When replacing a standard tank in a water system with
a pre-charged tank, no bleeder orifices or Air Volume
Control (AVC) are required. When sizing a pre-charged
tank to replace a standard tank, the tanks should have
equivalent drawdowns.
Hazardous voltage and hazardous pressure.
Disconnect all power to pump and bleed all pressure
from system before working on pump, tank, or piping.
