The FODSPORTS FX6 Motorcycle Headset is a communication system designed for outdoor sports, offering a range of features for riders. It facilitates fleet communication, allowing multiple users to connect and interact while on the road. The device can connect to any Bluetooth headset, ensuring compatibility with various existing setups. A key feature is its ability to simultaneously connect to multiple devices, enhancing its versatility. With an operating range of up to 1000 meters, it provides reliable communication over considerable distances.
The FX6 supports connections with up to two mobile phones, enabling users to manage calls and music from multiple sources. It offers stereo music playback via A2DP, ensuring high-quality audio for entertainment on the go. Voice dial functionality is included, allowing users to initiate calls using voice commands, provided their phone supports this feature. Voice prompts guide users through various operations and status updates, making the device intuitive to use. A convenient feature is its usability during recharging, ensuring continuous operation even when power is low. The device incorporates Bluetooth 5.0 technology for stable and efficient wireless connections.
For entertainment, the FX6 includes an FM radio, allowing riders to tune into their favorite stations. It can also be connected to a two-way radio, expanding its communication capabilities for specific scenarios. Playback control features enable users to manage their music easily. The device is water-proof, making it suitable for various weather conditions encountered during outdoor activities. Advanced noise control technology helps to reduce background noise, ensuring clearer communication and audio quality.
Installation of the FX6 is designed to be straightforward, with two primary methods: fixed by clamp or fixed by VELCRO sticker. For clamp installation, users first loosen screws on the back of the clamp, open the helmet lining, insert the clamp in the proper position on the left side of the helmet, and then fasten the screw. The device's back track slides into the clamping track. The inner lining on the ear position of the helmet is opened to attach a VELCRO loop, to which the Headphone Velcro hook is attached (with the short-line speaker on the left). A butterfly sticker is placed in the right position on the left side of the helmet, and the microphone is matched with the mouth position, with cables tidied. Finally, the plug is inserted into the headset socket. For VELCRO sticker installation, the device's back track slides into the clamping track, the white paper on the back of the clamp is torn off, and it's stuck in the right position on the left side of the helmet. Ear speakers and microphone installation steps are similar to the clamp method. Disassembly involves pulling out the headset plug and pressing the upper clamp buckle to move the device upward.
The device features an On/Off Button, a Multi-function Button, a Charger Socket, a Headset Socket, a Knob, an Indicator Light, and a Clamp. The ear speakers, headset plug, microphone, and butterfly sticker complete the physical components.
Operation of the FX6 is managed through its buttons and knob. To turn on the headset, users press and hold the On/Off Button for 3 seconds, triggering a "Welcome to FODSPORTS Bluetooth Communication System" sound prompt and a blue light for 1 second. To turn off, press and hold the On/Off Button for 5 seconds, resulting in a "Power Off" sound prompt and a red light for 1 second. For pairing, when the headset is off, press and hold the On/Off Button for 6 seconds; a "Pairing" sound prompt will be heard, and blue and red lights will flash alternately. To clear pairing devices, when the headset is on, keep pressing the On/Off Button for an additional 3 seconds after turning it off; after the "power off" sound prompt, the red light flashes 3 times, followed by a "toot" sound. Starting a Bluetooth intercom involves pressing the On/Off Button once when paired, leading to an "Intercom Connected" sound prompt. Pressing it again disconnects the intercom, and pressing it once more reconnects. If device B is paired with A and C successively, B needs to press the button once to initiate intercom with C, and twice for A. To end the Bluetooth intercom, a short press of the On/Off Button will result in an "Intercom disconnected" sound prompt.
The Multi-function Button also serves several purposes. For pairing, when the headset is on, press and hold it for 6 seconds, triggering a "Pairing" sound prompt and alternating blue and red lights. Answering a call can be done by clicking the button once when a call comes in, or the headset will pick up automatically, accompanied by a "Dong Dong" sound. To reject a call, press and hold the button for 2 seconds, which will also produce a "Dong Dong" sound. To temporarily disconnect the headset and answer a phone call, press and hold the button for 2 seconds during a call, resulting in a "Dong" sound and a red light flashing every second. Ending a call is achieved by clicking the button once, followed by a "Dong" sound. Voice dialing is activated by clicking the button twice when the headset is not occupied, with a "Voice Dial" sound prompt. Music playback and pause are controlled by a single click when connected. Switching between Bluetooth and FM modes is done by triple-clicking the button, which will announce "Bluetooth mode" or "FM mode." The FM function can be turned on or off by short-pressing the Multi-function Button 3 times when the device is on.
The Knob provides volume control and music/FM channel navigation. Turning the knob clockwise and holding it increases the volume during calls, intercom, music playback, or FM radio, until a "toot" prompt indicates maximum volume. Turning it counterclockwise and holding it decreases the volume until a "toot" prompt indicates minimum volume. For music or FM, turning the knob clockwise navigates to the next track or channel, while turning it counterclockwise goes to the previous one.
Bluetooth status is indicated by light flashes and sound prompts. When powered on, if Bluetooth is connected, a "Bluetooth connected" sound prompt is heard, and the blue light flashes once every 6 seconds. If not connected, a "Bluetooth disconnected" sound prompt is heard, and the blue light flashes twice every 6 seconds. A low battery alarm is given every 60 seconds when turned on, with a red light continuously flashing. During charging, the red light is on and turns off when fully charged. Upon powering on, a "Battery Full" or "Battery Low" sound prompt indicates the battery status.
Pairing methods are flexible. FX6 can enter pairing status in two ways: either by pressing and holding the On/Off Button for 6 seconds when off, or by pressing and holding the Multi-function Button for 6 seconds when on. Both methods result in a "Pairing" sound prompt and alternating blue and red lights. When pairing with a non-Fodsports FX6 Bluetooth device, both devices should be within 1 meter. The non-FX6 device is set to pairing status, then the FX6 enters pairing status (using the Multi-function Button method). A short press of the FX6 On/Off Button searches for the device, and "intercom connected" confirms successful pairing. The FX6 must initiate the intercom connection. To disconnect, press the FX6 On/Off Button, and press again to reconnect.
For pairing with mobile phones, GPS, and MP3 players, the FX6 and the device should be within 1 meter. The FX6 enters pairing status (using the On/Off Button method). Then, turn on the device's Bluetooth, search for "FODSPORTS FX6," and pair. "Connected" confirms success.
Pairing between two FX6 units requires both to be off and within 1 meter. Both enter pairing status (using the On/Off Button method). A short press of either the multi-function button or on/off button on one FX6 searches for the other, and "intercom connected" confirms successful pairing. Note that in pairing status, a short press of the multi-function button is only for connecting two FX6 units; for other non-FX6 devices, the on/off button must be pressed.
Group intercom settings allow for connecting multiple FX6 units in a series. For group intercom, the first and last FX6 units cannot be paired directly. The process involves clearing pairing records between the first and last units (A and F), then pairing units in sequence (A with B, B with C, C with D, D with E, E with F), turning off each unit after successful pairing, except for the last two (E and F). Finally, units are connected in series by pressing the on/off button on each unit to connect to the next in the sequence (D to E, C to D, B to C, A to B). If a unit in the group (e.g., D) receives a call, it temporarily disconnects from the group, forming two smaller groups (A, B, C and E, F). After the call, the unit automatically reconnects, and the full group intercom resumes.
The FX6 supports simultaneous connection of multiple devices, but it cannot pair with two non-FX6 devices continuously at the same time. It is important not to pair the FX6 with a mobile phone before pairing it with another Bluetooth headset, as this may cause intercom communication errors. This issue does not occur if the FX6 is not connected to a phone.
The device prioritizes functions to ensure critical communications are not interrupted. Phone calls and intercom via an introduced adapter have the highest priority (Level 1). Intercom introduced by a two-way radio cable is Level 2. Bluetooth intercom is Level 3, and FM radio and music are Level 4.
Maintenance considerations include storing the device between -20℃ and 60°C to preserve its service life. It should not be exposed to open fire to avoid explosion. For long-term storage, the device should be kept in a dry place and charged regularly (every 3 months) to maintain battery life. The Bluetooth name for the device is "FODSPORTS FX6."
