SPIRO HUMIDIFIER 702
Single patient use only
e HUMIDIFIER has an exchangeable lter and is used on a
tracheostomy cannula to take advantage of the heat and moisture that
is exhaled. It should be replaced with a new unit aer 29 days of use, or
more oen if necessary.
N.B. THE HUMIDIFIER MUST NEVER BE USED
WITHOUT THE FILTER
DAILY CHECKS: Check humidier operation daily and inspect for
damage. Replace humidier with new unit in case of damage or defective
operation.
CLEAN the valve HOUSING (3) daily. Do not use sharp tools. Use
the ngers or PLASTIC TWEEZERS (P/N 705, sold separately) to
remove/re-insert the lter. e valve housing and COVER (5) shall be
air dried aer washing with luke-warm water and mild fragrance-free
detergent. Other detergents or solvents must not be used. Always check
the operation again aer cleaning and check that the air passages are free.
Do not wash and re-use the lter!
REPLACE THE FILTER (4) (P/N 740, sold separately) as required,
at least twice every 24 hours. Replacement may be required more oen,
perhaps several times per hour, if a build-up of mucus or phlegm is
present. Ensure that the lter is seated evenly against the bottom of the
lter housing, and that the air ow through the lter is not obstructed by
phlegm or other substances.
A HEAT SHIELD/SHOWER PROTECTOR (6) (P/N 703, sold
separately) should be used as required with the inhalation opening facing
downward.
An ADAPTER (2) (P/N 707, 708, sold separately) is only required for
connection to a cannula (1) without an ISO 15 connector (taper).
SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN can connect via the Ø5.5mm nipple on
the valve housing.
