TOWBAR (Figure D4)
Highway tractors are fitted
with a heavy duty towbar assembly consisting of
a
towbar frame
(1
) and a towhook bracket
(2).
The towbar frame is
attached to
the rear transmission housing and the towhook
bracket is secured to the frame
by two quick release pins. The height of the towhook may
be
varied
by setting
the hook to any of the seven positions
shown in the chart below. Three of these
positions are obtained
by inverting the towhook.
