The BT05 features a user-friendly interface with several buttons and indicators on its top panel, along with various input/output ports on the rear.
Top Panel Controls:
- M Button: Switches between TX (Transmitter), RX (Receiver), and Bypass work modes. Long press for 2 seconds to switch modes.
- AUX/Optical Input Switch Button: Switches between AUX and Optical input. Long press for 2 seconds to switch.
- A Button: Pairs Device A. Short press to enter pairing mode (mode light flashes fast). Long press for 2 seconds to disconnect the paired Bluetooth device. Long press for 8 seconds to clear Bluetooth pairing history.
- B Button: Pairs Device B. Short press to enter pairing mode (mode light flashes fast). Long press for 2 seconds to disconnect the paired Bluetooth device. Long press for 8 seconds to clear Bluetooth pairing history.
- + Button: Volume up. In TX and Bypass modes, short press to increase volume. In RX mode, short press for next track, long press to increase volume.
- - Button: Volume down. In TX and Bypass modes, short press to decrease volume. In RX mode, short press for previous track, long press to decrease volume.

Usage Features:
Receiver Mode (RX):
In receiver mode, the BT05 receives Bluetooth audio from your device and outputs it to wired speakers, headphones, or an amplifier.
- Power Connection: Connect a 5V/1A or 5V/2A AC adapter (not included, a phone charger is recommended) to the DC In port using the Type-C cable. The BT05 will power on.
- Output Device Connection: Use a 3.5mm audio cable to connect the "RX AUX" output or an optical cable to connect the "RX OPTICAL" output to your amplifier, car speakers, or headset.
- Switch to Receiver Mode: Long press the M button for 2 seconds until the RX light flashes.
- Switch Output Method: Long press the AUX/Optical Input Switch button for 2 seconds until the OPT/AUX light illuminates, indicating the selected output.
- Pair Bluetooth Device A: Short press button A to enter pairing mode (RX LED flashes quickly).

Transmitter Mode (TX):
In transmitter mode, the BT05 takes audio from a wired source (e.g., TV, CD player) and transmits it wirelessly to Bluetooth headphones or speakers.

Pairing a Second Bluetooth Device (TX Mode):
- Pair Bluetooth Device B: After Device A is connected, short press button B to enter pairing mode for a second Bluetooth device (TX LED flashes quickly).
- Connect BT05: Turn on your second Bluetooth device and put it into pairing mode. The BT05 will automatically connect. The "B" indicator will stay on once connected.

Bypass Mode:
Bypass mode is useful if your TV has only one optical/AUX output that is already in use. The BT05 acts as a decoder, converting audio between 3.5mm AUX and optical output, allowing you to switch between wired and Bluetooth modes without unplugging cables.
- Power Connection: Connect a 5V/1A or 5V/2A AC adapter (not included) to the DC In port using the Type-C cable. The BT05 will power on.
- Input & Output Connection:
- Use a 3.5mm audio cable to connect the "TX AUX" or an optical cable to connect the "TX OPTICAL" as input.
- Use another 3.5mm audio cable to connect the "RX AUX" or an optical cable to connect the "RX OPTICAL" as output.
- Switch to Bypass Mode: Long press the M button for 2 seconds until the Bypass light illuminates.
- Switch Bypass Channel: Long press the AUX/Optical Input Switch button for 2 seconds to select the desired Bypass channel. The indicators will show the active connections:
- TX OPTICAL to RX OPTICAL: OPT lights on
- TX AUX to RX AUX: AUX lights on
- TX OPTICAL to RX AUX: AUX and OPT lights both on
- TX AUX to RX OPTICAL: AUX, OPT, and RX optical socket lights on
Maintenance Features:
- Automatic Reconnect: After the first pairing, if the BT05 restarts, it will automatically search for previously paired Bluetooth devices. The RX/TX light will flash slowly during this process. To enter Bluetooth pairing mode for a new device, short press button A or B (RX/TX light flashes fast).
- Auto Shut Down: If no device is connected within 30 minutes, the BT05 will automatically shut down.
- Clear Bluetooth Pairing History: Long press button A or B for 8 seconds until the TX or RX light stops flashing and stays on for two seconds (other indicators will shut down). This clears all historical paired Bluetooth devices and re-enters pairing mode.
- Power Adapter: Use a Type-C cable with a DC5V power adapter (5V/1A or 5V/2A recommended). Using a PC-USB port for power may cause interference.
- Signal Obstruction: Keep the Bluetooth device free from obstruction during use to ensure better sound quality, as Bluetooth signals can be blocked or absorbed by surrounding objects.
Troubleshooting & Important Notes:
- Pairing Password: The default pairing password is "0000" if required by your phone.
- Pairing Distance: Ensure devices are within 1 meter (3.28 ft) during initial pairing.
- Static Noise (TX Mode): Use a separate or replacement 5V AC power adapter to avoid signal interference.
- Volume Control: In RX mode, long press [+] to increase volume, long press [-] to decrease volume. Short press [+] for next track, short press [-] for previous track. In TX and Bypass modes, volume buttons only adjust volume.
- Automatic Connection: Yes, after the first pairing and BT05 restarting, it will automatically search for paired Bluetooth devices.
- Simultaneous Transmission/Reception: No, the BT05 can only be in transmitter, receiver, or bypass mode at one time.
- APTX/LL/HD Indicators Not Lighting: Ensure your Bluetooth device supports aptX/aptX-LL/aptX-HD audio and that these functions are enabled. Consult your Bluetooth device's supplier for support.
- Lower aptX Audio Quality with Two Devices: If connecting two Bluetooth devices, both must support aptX/aptX-LL/aptX-HD for higher quality output. If one device only supports SBC, the output will default to SBC for both.
- LL/HD Button Not Working: Some Bluetooth devices support aptX but not aptX-LL or aptX-HD. In such cases, the LL/HD button will not function. Verify your device's codec support.
- Optical Input to RCA Output Conversion: Yes, in bypass mode, you can convert optical input to 3.5mm AUX output and use a 3.5mm to RCA cable for RCA output.
- No Sound Playback (Optical Input, TX Mode):
- Ensure BT05 is in transmitter mode.
- Ensure the optical cable is connected to BT05's TX OPTICAL interface.
- Ensure your TV or other device's audio output is set to RAW/PCM, as BT05 does not support Dolby or DTS sound.
- Check if the Bluetooth headset/speaker is muted.
- Check if BT05 is muted (e.g., by accidentally touching the power button).
- Press and hold the [+] volume button to increase volume.
- Disconnect all Bluetooth connections and re-pair devices.
- No Sound Playback (3.5mm RX AUX Output, RX Mode):
- Ensure BT05 output mode is set to AUX, not Optical.
- Do not use a microphone headset or other microphone device.
- Check if BT05 is muted or if the output volume is too low; increase the volume.
- Unable to Search "Fosi Audio BT05":
- Ensure BT05 is not in an automatic reconnect state.
- Short press button A or B to enter pairing mode for new devices to search for "Fosi Audio BT05."
