TO CONNECT BITE ALARMS
Switch unit off. Unclip cover from rear of unit to reveal
input sockets. Plug in the required number of leads for
the number of alarms in use and push them into the
serrated grooves at the base of the compartment.
Refit cover, ensuring that no leads or plugs are
trapped between the cover and its rubber seal. Plug
the other ends of the leads into the extension box out-
puts of your bite alarms.
Note that the alarm plugged into input 1 will illuminate
the top LED on the receiver, the alarm plugged into
input 2 will illuminate the next LED down on the receiv-
er, and so on.
When using the TXR Plus System in conjunction with
Delkim alarms it is important to set the tone on the
alarm head to the highest pitch. Lower tone settings
may result in sound distortion from your TXR Plus
Receiver & inaccurate reproduction of the number and
duration of triggers, Please note that this does not
apply to any other make of alarm.
RANGE TEST MODE
To activate the range test feature, press and hold
down the [ON/OFF] button on the TXR Plus
Transmitter until the red LED starts to flash (after
approx 2 seconds). Release the button. The Receiver
unit will then sound a sequence of four beeps, at medi-
um pitch, repeating at intervals of approximately one
second. The user can then walk away, with the receiv-
er, to their desired location. If the test signal can still
be heard from the receiver, then it is within reception
range.
The test signal will continue until one of the following
occurs –
(i) Test mode auto-cancels. This will occur approxi-
mately five minutes after selecting test mode. The
receiver will beep four times at high pitch, to indicate
that test mode has timed out.
(ii) One of the bite alarms is triggered. If this occurs,
then the unit will revert to normal operation mode.
(iii) The user switches the unit off. This also cancels
test mode and the unit will re-start in normal mode
when switched back on.
TONE DIFFERENTIATION
In order to help identify which bite alarm connected to
the TXR Plus has been triggered, the TXR Plus receiv-
er will reproduce a different tone for each of the inputs
1-4. If your bite alarms incorporate a tone control, it
is advised that you set these up to approximate the
four different tones of the TXR Plus
receiver. (unless using Delkims as detailed previously)
BATTERY
To fit / replace battery:
To access the battery compartment, first unclip the
rear cover. Insert the special tool provided into the slot
on the battery cover. Push the back of the tool out-
wards, towards the left hand edge of the unit and the
cover will open.
Ensure battery is inserted the correct way round, as
shown in the battery compartment.
BATTERY REQUIREMENTS:
The TXR Plus model requires 1 x ‘AAA’ size (LR03)
1.5V alkaline battery
The use of a good quality alkaline battery is essential
for maximum battery life. The use of a rechargeable
battery is not recommended. As with any battery oper-
ated product, it is recommended that the battery be
removed, if the unit is not to be used for a long period
of time.
LOW BATTERY WARNING
The TXR Plus constantly monitors its battery condition
and indicates a low battery as follows –
Normally, when a bite alarm connected to the TXR
Plus transmitter is triggered, the corresponding LED
on the TXR Plus receiver illuminates steadily and latch-
es on for 20 seconds. However, if the battery in the
TXR Plus is low and a bite alarm is triggered, the cor-
responding LED on the TXR Plus receiver will flash and
remain flashing for the 20-second latching period.
When this occurs, it is recommended that the battery
in the TXR Plus should be replaced as soon as possi-
ble, to ensure continued operation.
