The charger is designed for aluminic acid batteries, with an output voltage of 48V and an output current of 10A, featuring an APO circuit suitable for deep cycle battery charging.
Usage Features
The S1150 is designed for user-friendly operation with several features to enhance efficiency and safety:
- Operation Panel: The machine is controlled via a key switch, direction switch (forward/backward), sweeping switch, spray switch, and light switch. A battery indicator displays voltage and capacity, prompting charging when below 20%.
- Pedals: It includes an accelerator pedal for driving and a brake pedal for stopping, making it easy for the operator to control speed and movement.
- Garbage Trolley: The garbage trolley can be easily removed and installed by unlocking a red bar and pulling the handle. After dumping rubbish, the trolley is pushed back into position and locked with a buckle.
- Parking and Ramp Release: The parking pedal can be used to park the machine on slopes. The parking button, when pressed, releases the brake, allowing movement. The brake is automatically applied when the button is released.
- Spraying Function: The machine has a spray switch to activate spraying, provided the water valve is open.
- Headlight: A headlight switch is available to turn on the light when needed.
- Safety Guidelines: Operators are advised to walk slowly on slopes and slippery surfaces, slow down when turning, and report any malfunctions immediately. Children should not play on or around the machine. Before leaving or maintaining, the machine must be stopped and placed on stable ground, then shut down.
- Battery Installation: Batteries are installed in the battery cabin, and cables are connected according to a specific blue and red wiring diagram. It is crucial not to throw batteries into the cabin to avoid damage. Electrodes and terminals must be clean before connecting, and a thin layer of metal-free lubricating oil or protective spray should be applied to prevent corrosion. The battery coulombmeter scale should be checked, and the battery charged as needed after installation.
- Machine Transport: When transporting by truck or trailer, the brush head should be lifted to the transport position. A handling apron is recommended for loading and unloading. The machine should be leaned against the front of the truck/trailer, blocks placed behind driving wheels, and ropes used to fix the top to prevent tilting. The brush head should be lowered, and the key turned to the close position.
Maintenance Features
The FREDETTE S1150 incorporates several features to facilitate maintenance and ensure longevity:
- Cleaning Method: The power switch must be turned off when cleaning the machine. Only special brushes specified by the manufacturer should be used to avoid affecting safety.
- Battery Charging: To prolong battery life, the battery should be charged after 30 minutes of use and not left uncharged for extended periods. Charging should occur in a well-ventilated area, away from sparks or open flames, with the battery cabin kept open. Protective gloves and eye protectors should be worn when handling batteries or wiring to avoid contact with battery liquid acid. The AC power cord of the charger should be plugged into a grounded socket. The charger will automatically start and stop charging. The machine will not operate while connected to the charger. If charging must be suspended, the AC power cord should be pulled out first.
- Machine Storage: Before storage, the battery should be charged, and the water tank thoroughly drained and flushed. The machine should be stored in a dry place with the brush head in the rising position. If stored in a cold environment, all liquid must be drained.
- Side Brush Replacement: To replace the side brush, press down the brush leveler, unscrew the three nuts holding the brush, remove the old brush, and then reload the new one following the same steps.
- Roller Brush Replacement/Cleaning: To replace or clean the roller brush, open the side cover, unscrew the rubber guard, and remove it. Then, take off the roller supporter and the side plate of the roller brush. Loosen four screws on the side rubber strip and remove the screws in the supporter with an Allen key. Pull out the roller brush, clean or replace it, and then reload it following the reverse steps.
- Filter Element Dust Removal and Cleaning: After use, pull up the dust handle and rotate it clockwise and counterclockwise to achieve dust shock of the filter element. For deeper cleaning (monthly or when vacuuming ability falls), loosen the filtration box spanner on the four corners, rotate the vibration dust handle, and slowly pull out the filter. Use compressed air to blow dust off the filter and clean the filter box. When reinserting the filter, slightly raise the front end, slowly turn the dust handle, and push it in until the spanner locks on all four corners.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a detailed troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the brakes not working, the machine not walking, the sweeping system not working, the water spray not working, dust not shaking, and dust explosion. Solutions range from adjusting brakes and replacing components to cleaning parts and ensuring proper connections. For instance, if the brakes don't work, checking the balance between the two sides and adjusting if necessary is recommended. If the machine doesn't walk, checking the components connected to the drive motor and ensuring they are clean and functional is advised. If the sweeping system doesn't work, checking the key switch, control panel, brushes, and wiring is suggested. If the water spray doesn't work, checking the water tank, pump, valve, and spray nozzle for blockages or damage is necessary. Dust explosion issues may require checking the main brush, dustbin trolley, and sealing strips.
