Charging the FREELOADER SiXER
from a USB device
The ‘USB device’ could be eg. a
home computer, laptop, USB mains
or USB car plug.
Plug one end of the ‘charging cable’
provided into your own ‘USB device’, the other
end fits into the Micro USB charging port (5) (see Fig 1 and 3).
The LCD screen (2) (see Fig 2) indicates the level of battery charge. The icon will
appear and the icon will stop flashing once charging is complete. The FREELOADER
SiXER can then be disconnected from the charging cable and is ready for use.
We do not recommend leaving the FREELOADER SiXER on constant charge via USB.
Additionally do not simultaneously charge your FREELOADER SiXER by USB and use it to
power a device.
Charging the FREELOADER SiXER from the sun
Charge time from empty to full via the Sixer’s internal solar cell and in sunny conditions
willtakeupto28hours,howeverresidualchargeinthebatteryreducesthistime.If
faster charging time is needed, adding the Supercharger booster solar cell accessory
willreducethistimetounder7to8hours(seepage3formoredetails).
By facing the FREELOADER SiXER solar cell (1) towards the sun, battery charging will
automatically begin. An icon on the LCD screen (2) will indicate charging is initiated.
When the user is stationary, a built in support stand allows tilting to maximize charge
efficiency from the sun. Alternatively when charging ‘on the go’ is required, a Velcro
attachment strap enables the FREELOADER SiXER to be attached in an open and skyward
facing position to the shoulder strap of a rucksack, top of a sled or onto the handlebars
of a bike for example.
Press power button (7) to illuminate screen. The icon indicates the amount
of charge remaining in the battery (see Fig 2) quantified by: Pressing the power
button (7) (see Fig 1) will display the battery charge level.
Chargingtimefromthesunisupto28hoursforafullcharge.
However, residual charge in the battery reduces this time significantly.
Powering and/or charging up your device(s)
(phone, tablet, camera etc)
The FREELOADER SiXER has two integrated charging arms
(3) and (4), this enables simultaneous charging of two devices.
Integratedchargingarm(2)(Fig4)includesalightning
connectorforAppledevices.Integratedchargingarm(1)(Fig4)
includes a Micro USB connection. This general charging connector
is compatible with most smartphones.
