Overview

This document is a user manual for Fubag gasoline power stations, covering models BS 4400, BS 5500, BS 5500 A ES, BS 6600, BS 6600 A ES, and BS 6600 DA ES.

Function Description

The Fubag gasoline power station is designed to provide electrical power. It is a portable generator suitable for various applications, including backup power for homes or small businesses, and power supply for outdoor activities or construction sites where grid power is unavailable. The "A ES" models feature an electric starter, while the "DA ES" model offers both single-phase (230V) and three-phase (400V) output.

All models feature a synchronous generator, IP 23 protection, and a 1-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine. The "A ES" and "DA ES" models include an electric starter, while others use a recoil starter. The BS 6600 DA ES model uniquely offers both single-phase and three-phase power output. Relative humidity for operation is specified at 0-75%.

Usage Features

Safety Precautions:

  • Operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away from buildings and other structures (at least 1 meter).
  • Never operate in enclosed spaces, even with open windows and doors, due to carbon monoxide risk.
  • Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Avoid smoking or open flames near the generator.
  • Do not attempt to lift the generator alone.
  • Avoid operating or storing the generator in high humidity or on conductive surfaces.
  • Wear hearing protection during operation.
  • Always read the manual carefully before operation.

Pre-Operation Checks:

  • Engine Oil: Check oil level before each use. If below the lower limit, add suitable oil (refer to the oil grade chart for ambient temperature). The first oil change should be performed after 25 hours of use, then every 50 hours.
  • Fuel: Check fuel level. Refuel with unleaded automotive gasoline if necessary. Ensure the fuel filter screen is clean. The fuel tank capacity is 25 liters.
  • Components: Verify that fuel hoses are not leaking, bolts and washers are tightened, and all components are undamaged.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Set the engine switch to "ON".
  2. Open the fuel cock.
  3. Set the choke lever to "CLOSED" (for cold engine start).
  4. Pull the starter handle slowly until resistance is felt, then pull firmly. For electric start models, use the electric starter button.
  5. Once the engine starts, gradually return the choke lever to "OPEN".
  6. Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes without load.

Using Electric Power:

  • Check the digital display for proper voltage.
  • Turn off the electrical appliance(s) before connecting to the generator.
  • Insert the plug(s) of the electrical appliance(s) into the receptacle.
  • Ensure the total power consumption of connected appliances does not exceed the generator's rated output.
  • If the circuit breaker trips, reduce the load or check for appliance defects.

Stopping Procedure:

  1. Turn off the power switch of the electric equipment or unplug the cord from the receptacle.
  2. Allow the engine to cool down at no-load for about 3 minutes.
  3. Set the engine switch to "OFF".
  4. Close the fuel cock.

Oil Sensor: The oil sensor detects low oil levels in the crankcase and automatically stops the engine to prevent damage. If the engine stops automatically, check the oil level.

Maintenance Features

Maintenance Schedule: Regular maintenance is crucial for the generator's longevity and safe operation.

  • Daily: Check air cleaner, oil level, fuel level, and inspect for leaks.
  • Every 50 hours (Weekly): Clean and wash the air cleaner element. Change engine oil (first change at 25 hours). Check spark plug, clean and adjust if necessary. Check and clean the fuel shut-off valve.
  • Every 100 hours: Replace spark plug, clean air-cleaner element, decarbonize cylinder head, valves, and piston. Inspect and replace carbon brushes.
  • Every 300 hours or every year: Inspect control panel components, check rotor and stator. Replace engine mount rubber.
  • Every 3 years: Overhaul engine, change fuel lines.

Preparation and Maintenance in Winter Time:

  • Operate the generator in temperatures above +5°C. Low temperatures negatively affect operation.
  • Drain all old fuel completely and discharge the remaining one.
  • Clean the fuel filter.
  • Check the air filter.
  • Substitute the engine oil for the oil corresponding to the season.
  • Fill the fuel tank with antifreeze to avoid ingress of water and its further freezing in the fuel tank and carburetor.
  • If the generator is to be kept in a place at a temperature from +5°C and above in winter time, if the engine stops for more than 15 minutes during the operation at negative temperatures it is necessary to place the set into a warm place to prevent the condensate freezing in the breather pipe and the throttle before its start. It may cause the pressure burst in the crankcase housing and the gaskets break down. The monitoring of the set operation is to be carried out oftener than under usual operating conditions as they are considered to be rough.

Servicing Air Cleaner:

  • Remove the air cleaner, clean it with kerosene, and dry it.
  • Wet the element with clean engine oil and squeeze it tightly.
  • Install the element securely in the case.

Cleaning and Adjusting Spark Plug:

  • If contaminated with carbon, clean the spark plug with a cleaner and wire brush.
  • Adjust the electrode gap to 0.7-0.8 mm.

Cleaning Fuel Strainer:

  • Remove the strainer cup and throw away water and dirt.
  • Clean the screens and strainer cup with gasoline.
  • Tighten the cup to the main body, making sure to avoid fuel leak.

Preparation for Storage: For periods of 3 months or longer:

  • Drain fuel from the fuel tank and carburetor.
  • Change engine oil.
  • Check for loose bolts and screws, tighten them if necessary.
  • Clean the generator thoroughly with an oiled cloth.
  • Spray with preservative if available.
  • Pull the starter handle until resistance is felt, leaving the handle in that position.
  • Store the generator in a well-ventilated, low humidity area.

Warranty: The warranty covers defects in materials and components and does not cover natural wear and tear or maintenance work. The warranty is valid only for clean, complete units with original packaging, manual, warranty card with sales date, stamp, serial number, and original receipts. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages due to non-compliance with instructions, self-disassembly, repair, or maintenance.
