Make sure the safety guard is fitted and in the closed position. * The power cord could be damaged and needs repair or replacement by a qualified electrician or power tool repairer. * There may be a faulty switch or motor, requiring repair or replacement by a qualified electrician or power tool repairer. * The V-belt cover might not be secured. Ensure the V-belt cover is closed and lowered correctly into position.

Second, the drill bit may not be securely placed in the 16mm drill chuck. Remove the drill bit and reinsert it correctly, ensuring the chuck jaws are fully tightened. Finally, the 16mm drill chuck itself may not be installed correctly, so ensure you install it correctly.
