Make sure the safety guard is fitted and in the closed position. * The power cord could be damaged and needs repair or replacement by a qualified electrician or power tool repairer. * There may be a faulty switch or motor, requiring repair or replacement by a qualified electrician or power tool repairer. * The V-belt cover might not be secured. Ensure the V-belt cover is closed and lowered correctly into position.

Finally, the 16mm drill chuck itself may not be installed correctly, so ensure you install it correctly.
