Overview

This document describes the Furrion 21" Double Burner Induction Cooktop, model FIH21G2A-BG, a safe, advanced, and efficient cooking appliance designed for household use. It utilizes electromagnetic induction to generate instant heat directly at the cookware bottom, minimizing heat transfer to the glass surface. The cooktop complies with Part 18 of the FCC Rules for ISM equipment, ensuring minimal interference with other devices.

Function Description:

The Furrion 21" Double Burner Induction Cooktop features two induction elements, one on the left and one on the right, controlled by separate touch control panels. The cooktop operates in two main modes: Power Mode and Temperature Mode. In Power Mode, users can set the power level from 1 to 8 (with specific wattages for each burner). In Temperature Mode, users can set the cooking temperature from 120°F to 460°F across 9 levels. A built-in timer allows for cooking durations from 1 minute to 2 hours and 59 minutes. The cooktop also includes a Child Safety Lock feature to prevent accidental activation, an automatic shutoff feature for continuous operation beyond 2 hours, and power-sharing capabilities between the two burners.

  • Timer: 1 minute to 2 hours 59 minutes

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Each burner has its own control panel with dedicated buttons for Power/Temperature indicator, Raise Heat Level, Lower Heat Level, Function Selection (to switch between Power and Temp modes), On/Off, Timer, and Child Safety Lock.
  • Standby Mode: Upon powering on, the cooktop emits a "beep" and all LEDs blink once, indicating it's in Standby Mode.
  • Ready Mode: Pressing ON/OFF from Standby Mode activates Ready Mode, indicated by a blinking ON/OFF light. The cooktop automatically returns to Standby Mode after 60 seconds of inactivity.
  • Child Safety Lock: This feature can be activated in Standby Mode or during use. To activate, touch and hold the LOCK button for 3 seconds until a "beep" sounds and the indicator light illuminates. To unlock, repeat the process.
  • Power Mode: Allows cooking by setting specific power levels (1-8). The digital display shows the wattage (e.g., "900" for Level 4).
  • Temperature Mode: Allows cooking by setting specific temperature levels (120°F-460°F). The digital display shows the temperature (e.g., "460F").

  • Power Sharing: The cooktop is designed to share a total maximum power of 1800W. If both cooktops are on, the maximum power for any single cooktop is 1300W. For example, if one cooktop is set to 1100W, the other will automatically reduce to a maximum of 700W. If only one cooktop is on, it can reach its maximum power (Left: 1800W, Right: 1300W).
  • Automatic Shutoff: The cooktop will automatically shut off after 2 hours of continuous use, or after 2 hours and 59 minutes if the integrated timer is used. It also features a parching prevention mechanism, which may shut off the cooktop during high-temperature cooking situations like frying or stir-frying.
  • Hot Surface Indicator (H): An "H" will appear on the LED display when the cooking surface is hot after use, even if the cooktop is turned off. Wait for the "H" to disappear before cleaning.
  • Operational Cooktop Noises: Users may hear soft cooling fan sounds, as well as slight noises from cookware due to vibration, material layers, or loose handles. These are generally normal.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: The cooktop should be cleaned with a ceramic glass cleaner after each use, once it has cooled down. Apply a few drops of cleaner, rub with a soft cleaning pad or paper towel, and then remove residue with a dry cloth or paper towel. Do not clean while the cooktop is hot.
  • Cleaning Burned-on Residue: For heavy residue, allow the cooktop to cool. Use a single-edge razor blade scraper at a 45-degree angle to scrape off residue. Then apply ceramic glass cleaner and rub with a cleaning pad. Repeat if necessary and polish with a paper towel. Avoid abrasive cleaning materials.
  • Metal Marks and Scratches: Metal marks from sliding pots can be removed using ceramic glass cleaner and a cleaning pad. Any marks should be removed immediately to prevent permanent discoloration. If cracks or indentations appear on the glass surface, the cooktop glass needs replacement.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the cooktop not working, not heating, or turning off while cooking. It also lists error codes (E0, E1, E2, E3, E7, E8, E9, EE) with corresponding solutions, including checking cookware, power supply, and internal faults.
  • Cookware Compatibility: Compatible cookware includes flat-bottom pots or pans with a diameter of 4¾" to 10¾" (120 to 275mm) made of iron, stainless steel, or enamel. Non-magnetic stainless steel, pots with stands, heat-resistant glass, ceramic, copper, or aluminum cookware, or cookware with bottoms less than 4¾" (120mm) are not compatible. A magnet test can be used to check compatibility.
