eriodically inspect the condition of the cutting head.
If the spool is damaged, switch off, remove the plug
from the power point and replace the spool.
Do not use the tool to cut grass, which is not on the
ground. For example, do not cut grass, which is on
w
alls or rocks.
Do not switch on the tool in enclosed or poorly
v
entilated spaces or in the presence of inflammable
and /or explosive substances such as liquid, gases
and powders.
Always stop the trimmer and switch off at the mains
when cutting is delayed or when walking from one
cutting location to another.
Do not cross roads or gravel paths with tool still
running.
After use, disconnect the tool from the power supply
and check for damage. If you have the slightest
doubts, check with the authorised service centre.
Only use the tool according to the instructions give in
this manual.
Do not extend the trimming line beyond the guard and
do not operate the trimmer without both lines
extended and proper line installed.
Check regularly that the nuts, bolts and screws are
tight.
USING THE GRASS TRIMMER
When using the tool, always use caution and take on
a firm and well-balanced position.
Where possible, avoid working on wet, slippery
ground or in any case on uneven or steep ground that
does not guarantee stability for the operator.
Never run, but walk carefully paying attention to the
lay of the land and any eventual obstacles.
Assess the potential risks of the ground to be mown
and take all necessary precautions to ensure your own
safety, especially on slopes or on bumpy, slippery or
unstable ground.
Do not use the tool if you are unable to hold it with
both hands or keep it steady on your legs while
working.
Never allow children or persons unfamiliar with these
instructions to use the tool. Local regulations can
restrict the age of the user.
The tool must never be used by more than one
person.
Never use the tool:
When people, especially children or pets are in the
vicinity
If the user is tired or unwell, or has taken medicine,
drugs alcohol or any substances which may slow his
reflexes and compromise his judgement;

efore using the charger, read all the instructions and
cautionary markings on the charger and battery pack
as well as the instructions on using the battery pack.
Only charge your batteries indoors as the charger is
designed for indoor use only.
DANGER! If the battery pack is cracked or damaged
i
n any other way, do not insert it in the charger. There
is a danger of electric shock or electrocution.

ARNING! Do not allow any liquid to come into
contact with the charger. There is a danger of electric
shock.
The charger and battery packs supplied with it are
specifically designed to work together. Do not attempt
to charge the battery pack with any other charger than
the one supplied.
Do not pull on the power cord to disconnect it from
the mains supply socket.
Do not use the charger if it has been subjected to a
heavy knock, dropped or otherwise damaged in any
way. Take the charger to an authorised service centre
for a check or repair.
Do not disassemble the charger. Take it to an
authorised service centre when service or repair is
required. Incorrect re-assembly may result in the risk
of fire, electric shock or electrocution.
To reduce the risk of an electric shock, unplug the
charger from the power supply before attempting to
clean it. Removing the battery alone does not reduce
the risk.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR THE BATTERY
PACK
The battery pack for this tool has been shipped in a
low charge condition. You should charge the battery
pack fully before use.
Do not incinerate the battery pack even if it is
seriously damaged or can no longer hold a charge.
The battery pack can explode in a fire.
A small leakage of liquid from the battery pack may
occur under extreme usage or temperature conditions.
This does not necessarily indicate a failure of the
battery pack. However, if the outer seal is broken and
this leakage comes into contact with your skin wash
the affected area quickly with soap and water. If the
leakage gets in your eyes flush your eyes with clean
water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek
immediate medical attention.
Inform the medical staff that the liquid is a 25-35%
solution of potassium hydroxide.
Never attempt to open the battery pack for any
reason. If the plastic housing of the battery pack
breaks open or cracks, immediately discontinue its
use and do not recharge it.
