Usage Features
- Pre-Delivery Planning: The guide emphasizes crucial planning steps before spa arrival, including delivery options (HIAB, bespoke, kerbside, pick up), choosing spa placement (view, privacy, weather), positioning requirements (fencing for above/below ground, service area clearance of 50cm), foundation requirements (cured concrete pad 10cm thick, decking load rating check), spa steps (flat, level foundation, not fixed), and drainage solutions.
- Electrical Installation: All spa models require hardwiring by a registered electrician (25-32 Amp). The manual provides instructions for removing side panels to access componentry and outlines two power feed methods: cabinet power feed (concealed) and concealed power feed (underneath the spa). It also mentions load shedding as a default factory setting to conserve power.
- Filling the Spa: Before first use, the spa needs to be wiped out and sanitized. The process involves turning off power, removing a filter to place the garden hose in the basket to prevent air locks, filling to the recommended line, replacing the filter, turning on power, allowing a priming cycle, setting spa time and filtration cycles, adding chemicals, and setting the desired temperature.
- Draining the Spa: Instructions are provided for locating and operating the drain valve, attaching a draining connector, and connecting a hose to drain water to a desired location.
- SpaTech Touchpad: The manual includes a detailed key for the SpaTech touchpad, explaining symbols and functions for power, jets, blower (not operational for these models), light, mode (sleep/economy/standard), time setting, temperature/mode adjustment, time/temperature display, panel lock/unlock, and pump work cycle setting.
- Temperature Setting: The spa has a thermostatically controlled heater. Users can set the temperature from 10°C to 40°C using the up/down buttons on the control panel.
- Filtration Cycle Setting: Users can set filter cycles to two sets of four-hour filtering (for Galaxy's Water Start Up Care Kit) or two sets of six-hour filtering (for simplesilver™). The filtration cycle runs in standby mode.
- Diverters: These controls, located on the edges of the spa, allow users to customize massage pressure by diverting water between jets.
Maintenance Features
- Cover Lifter Installation: A cover lifter is an accessory that aids in removing the spa cover and protects it from damage. Installation requires 50cm rear and 10cm side clearance. The manual provides a detailed parts list and step-by-step instructions for assembling and installing the cover lifter, including securing it to the spa cabinet.
- Hard Cover Installation: Instructions are provided for positioning the cover, securing straps, and screwing buckles onto the cabinet.
- Cover Care: Recommendations include avoiding excessive chemicals, removing the cover when adding chemicals, monthly cleaning with mild detergent, preventing water/snow accumulation, avoiding scraping on rough surfaces, unfastening hardware before opening, and not sitting/walking/laying on the cover.
- Water Guide (Galaxy Super Chlor Start Up Kit):
- First Treatment - Chlorine Shock Dosing: Essential for initial fill, involves adding a higher than normal dose of chlorine to kill surface bacteria. Dosage charts are provided for each spa model.
- Daily Treatment: Super Chlor should be used daily, ideally after spa use. Daily dosage charts are provided.
- Start Up Kit Contents: Explains the use of AquaChek Test Strips, Super Chlor, pH Decrease, Alkalinity Up, Water Hardener, and Cartridge Cleaner for maintaining optimal water chemistry.
- Recommended Water Quality: Provides ideal ranges for pH, Free Chlorine, Alkalinity, and Calcium hardness.
- Balancing Your Water: Instructions on using testing strips and helpful conversions for chemical measurements.
- Cartridge Cleaner: Recommended fortnightly cleaning of filters by soaking them in a cartridge cleaner, rinsing, and drying.
- Draining Your Spa: Advised to change water every three months.
- Water Guide (simplesilver™):
- Function: simplesilver™ is a chlorine-free option that gradually releases minerals to remove contaminants, limit scale/rust, and inhibit bacteria growth.
- Installation Process: Place one 500g tablet (for spas up to 1500L) anywhere in the spa water. No need to drain water unless bromine was previously used.
- Filter Pump Set Up: Set the filter pump timer to operate daily in standard mode, turning off sleep, holiday, and energy-saving modes. Ensure all jet heads and water features are open. The circulation pump should ensure 80,000 to 100,000 litres of water circulate daily.
- Seven-Day Resting Period: After setting the filter pump, do not use the spa for seven days to allow minerals to dispense and contaminants to precipitate out.
- After Seven Days: Clean filters with cartridge cleaning solution, rinse, and dry.
- After Care: simplesilver™ lasts 12 months. Replace with a new block after changing water and cleaning the filter. Troubleshooting advice is available on the simplesilver™ website.
