QCZ09U control unit for shutters and awnings is provided with a radio receiver (434.15 MHz) and a
facility for a pushbutton and a wind sensor. It is in a water resistant box with an internal antenna.
The receiver can record up to 31 different codes to identify as many transmitters.
The shutter/awning is controlled by a transmitter and/or an external standard switch (normally open).
You can also install a wind sensor GAPOSA (option) which closes the awning automatically in case of
strong wind.
Max. distance between wind sensor and QCZ09U is 20 m.
CAUTION: Please don’t use these transmitters in areas with risks of radio disturbs over the norm
(i.e. airports or radio repeaters). These transmitters may also be disturbed by telecommunication
and/or transceiver systems with the same frequency.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (Fig. 1)
Check that the power supply corresponds to the label data. Use the 3-pole cable for the net power
supply, the 4-pole cable to connect the motor and the 2-pole cable for the pushbutton connection.
WARNING! Never remove the fixing screw (A) from the cover of the output wires.
For more protection when installed outdoor, we recommend installation in vertical with cables exit
facing downwards.

Do you have a question about the GAPOSA QCZ09U and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The GAPOSA QCZ09U(.K1) is a remote control unit designed for shutters and awnings, featuring an integrated radio receiver. This device operates on a 120VAC / 60Hz power supply and utilizes a 434.15 MHz frequency for radio communication. It is housed in a water-resistant box with an internal antenna, making it suitable for various installation environments.

Function Description:

The primary function of the QCZ09U is to control the movement of shutters and awnings. It can lift the rolling shade/awning up, stop its movement, and lower it down. The unit includes a radio receiver that can store up to 31 different codes, allowing it to identify and operate with multiple transmitters. Control can be initiated via a dedicated transmitter or an external standard (normally open) switch.

A key feature is the optional integration with a GAPOSA wind sensor. When connected, the wind sensor automatically closes the awning in case of strong winds, providing an additional layer of protection. The maximum recommended distance between the wind sensor and the QCZ09U unit is 20 meters.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: 120VAC / 60Hz
  • Frequency: 434.15 MHz
  • Transmitter Range: 20 m indoors / 200 m outdoors
  • Protection Rating: IP55 (indicating protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction)
  • Dimensions: 133x35x25 mm
  • Receiver Capacity: Stores up to 31 different transmitter codes.

Usage Features:

The QCZ09U offers several user-friendly features for programming, adding, and managing transmitters, as well as controlling the motor direction.

  • Programming a Transmitter:

    1. Press and hold the "PROG-TX" button on the back of the transmitter until the motor starts moving.
    2. Release "PROG-TX" once the motor rotation is confirmed (the motor stops).
    3. Within 5 seconds, press the corresponding "UP" or "DOWN" button on the transmitter to finalize programming. The motor will move upwards or downwards depending on the selected button.
  • Adding a New Transmitter:

    1. Press and hold the "PROG-TX" button on the back of an already paired transmitter until the motor starts moving in one direction.
    2. Release "PROG-TX" (the motor stops).
    3. Within 5 seconds, press the corresponding "UP" or "DOWN" button on the new transmitter to be added.
  • Checking/Changing Direction:

    1. Press "UP" or "DOWN" to check the motor's current direction.
    2. To change direction, press and hold "PROG-TX" on the back of the transmitter until the motor starts moving.
    3. Press "STOP." The motor will make a brief jog, indicating that the direction has been reversed. It is crucial to perform this direction change before setting limit switches; otherwise, the limits must be reset.
  • Deleting a Transmitter or a Channel:

    • To delete a specific transmitter, press and hold both "Prog-TX" and "STOP" buttons on the transmitter to be deleted until the motor makes a small jog. Only that specific transmitter will be removed from the motor's memory.
  • Resetting Transmitter Memory (Deleting All Transmitters or Channels or Sensors):

    • Option 1 (Using a programmed transmitter): Press and hold both "Prog-TX" and "STOP" buttons for at least 15 seconds. The motor will provide two jog feedbacks: a brief jog initially, followed by a longer jog after 5 seconds, confirming that the memory is empty.
    • Option 2 (Using a new transmitter without ID):
      1. Switch the motor power supply OFF, then switch it ON.
      2. Within 8 seconds, use any GAPOSA transmitter (434.15MHz) and press and hold both "Prog-TX" and "STOP" buttons until the motor makes a long jog. This indicates that the memory is empty.

Maintenance Features:

The manual emphasizes proper installation for optimal performance and longevity.

  • Electrical Connection:

    • Always verify that the power supply matches the label data.
    • Use a 3-pole cable for the net power supply, a 4-pole cable for motor connection, and a 2-pole cable for the pushbutton connection.
    • WARNING: Never remove the fixing screw (A) from the cover of the output wires.
    • For outdoor installations, it is recommended to install the unit vertically with the cables exiting downwards to enhance weather protection.
  • Environmental Considerations:

    • CAUTION: Avoid using these transmitters in areas prone to significant radio interference, such as near airports or radio repeaters. Telecommunication and/or transceiver systems operating on the same frequency may also disturb the transmitters.

The device's robust design and clear operational instructions ensure reliable control of shutters and awnings, with added safety features like wind sensor integration and memory management options.
