Usage Features

The lawn mower offers several features to enhance usability and safety:

  • ON/OFF Switch (1): Located on the handle for easy access.
  • Cable Strain-Relief Clamp (2): Helps prevent damage to the power cable.
  • Carry Handle (3): For convenient transport of the mower.
  • Grass Basket (4): A 28-liter detachable grass collection box for efficient grass collection.
  • Ejector Flap (5): Covers the grass discharge opening.
  • Top Push Bar (7) and Bottom Push Bar (8): Form the handle assembly. The height of the top push bar can be adjusted using two fastening holes (L for low, H for high) to suit the user's preference.
  • Integrated Safety Switch: The mower is equipped with a safety lock-off (Fig. 5a/Item A) that must be pressed before the switching bar (Fig. 5a/Item B) can be activated, preventing accidental start-up. The mower switches off when the switch is released.
  • Adjustable Cutting Heights: Three cutting height positions (60mm, 42.5mm, 25mm) can be set by adjusting the position of the tires on the axle. This adjustment should only be made when the engine is switched off and the power cable disconnected. All four tires must be set to the same height to ensure the cutting blade runs parallel to the lawn.
  • Mowing Recommendations:
    • Mow in broad daylight or well-lit conditions.
    • Do not use on wet grass.
    • Maintain good footing on inclines and mow across hills, not straight up or down.
    • Operate at a walking pace.
    • Be extra careful when turning or pulling the mower towards you.
    • Do not mow on overly steep inclines (gradients exceeding 15° are not recommended).
    • Mow in overlapping lines with sharp blades to prevent grass fraying.
    • Recommended cutting height is between 4 and 6 cm, and growth before the next cut should be between 4 and 5 cm.
    • Never cut more than half the grass height in one pass.
    • Place the mains lead in loops on the ground in front of the socket and mow away from it to avoid running over the cable.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the lawn mower:

  • General Checks: Before each use, inspect the mains cable and extension cable for damage or aging. Check the machine for signs of damage and ensure the blade, mounting bolts, and cutting apparatus are in good working order. If unusual vibrations occur, switch off the machine, disconnect power, and check for issues.
  • Blade Maintenance:
    • The blade should be sharp and undamaged. Replace worn or damaged blades and mounting bolts as a set to prevent imbalance.
    • To change the blade, undo the fastening screw (Fig. 7), remove the old blade, and replace it with a genuine Einhell replacement blade, ensuring the blade's air vanes jut into the motor compartment. Retighten the fastening screw to approx. 25 Nm. It is recommended to have the blade replaced by an authorized professional.
    • Always wear work gloves when handling the blade.
    • After switching off the motor, the blade will continue to run for a few seconds; never attempt to stop it manually.
  • Cleaning:
    • Always disconnect the mains power plug before cleaning.
    • Keep safety devices, air vents, and the motor housing free of dirt and dust. Wipe with a clean cloth or blow with compressed air.
    • Clean the equipment immediately after each use with a moist cloth and soft soap. Avoid cleaning agents or solvents that could damage plastic parts. Ensure no water seeps into the device.
    • Clean the grass bag, especially the net, from the inside after use to ensure proper grass collection.
    • Do not remove grass cuttings from the mower casing or cutter by hand or foot; use suitable tools like a brush or broom.
  • Storage:
    • Allow the mower to cool before storing it in an enclosed area.
    • To avoid fire risk, keep the motor housing and ventilation slots clear of grass, leaves, oil, and grease.
  • Grass Box Maintenance: Routinely check the grass basket for signs of wear and impaired functionality.
  • Carbon Brushes: In case of excessive sparking, have the carbon brushes checked and replaced only by a qualified electrician.
  • Spare Parts: When ordering replacement parts, quote the type of machine, article number, identification number, and the replacement part number. Information on prices and parts can be found at www.isc-gmbh.info.
  • Disposal and Recycling: The packaging is raw material and can be reused or returned to the raw material system. Defective components of the unit and accessories should be disposed of as special waste according to local regulations and European Directive 2002/96/EC.
