Overview

The Gasmate Optimum Radiant Heater (EH600 Series) is a versatile electric heating appliance designed for both indoor and outdoor use, particularly suitable for alfresco areas, verandahs, and garages. It features a metal radiant heater with a non-glowing element, encased in black anodised aluminium, ensuring a sleek and durable design. The heater comes with an adjustable wall and ceiling bracket, offering flexible installation options. A 1.5m long power cord is included for connection to a power source.

Function Description:

The Gasmate Optimum Radiant Heater provides efficient radiant heat without a visible glow, making it a discreet heating solution. It is designed to warm spaces effectively, offering comfort in various settings. The heater can be mounted on walls or ceilings, and its adjustable bracket allows for tilting the head to direct heat where needed. Models EH613/EH613R/B, EH623/EH623R/B, and EH633/EH633R/B are available, with "R" indicating remote control functionality and "B" denoting black colour. The EH633B & EH633RB models, due to their higher power consumption, require a 15A power point to be installed by a qualified electrician.

Important Technical Specifications:

The heater operates on a 220-240V AC ~ 50Hz power supply.

    • Remote Control: No / Yes (for R models)
    • Input Wattage: 1800W
    • Unit Weight: 6.8Kg/7.5Kg
    • IP Rating: IPx4
  • EH623/EH623R/B:
    • Remote Control: No / Yes (for R models)
    • Input Wattage: 2400W
    • Unit Weight: 7.5Kg/8.2Kg
    • IP Rating: IPx4
  • EH633/EH633R/B:

    • Input Wattage: 3200W (15AMP)
    • Unit Weight: 9.0Kg/9.7Kg
    • IP Rating: IPx4

The IPx4 rating signifies that the heater is protected against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor use where it might be exposed to rain. The product is fitted with a sealed electrical connection plug compatible with Australian mains supply and international standards.

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The heater can be mounted on a wall or ceiling using the provided adjustable bracket. The bottom of the heater body should be at least 1.8m above the floor. A minimum distance of 200mm from eave lining, ceiling, or wall (at 90° to the heater) is required. If facing another vertical surface, a minimum gap of 1 metre is necessary. It must not be positioned within 1 metre of a water source (e.g., tap) or directly above, below, or in front of a power point or switch. Fixing screws should be suitable for at least 10Kg each, and installation into timber studs/joists is recommended, as plasterboard alone is not suitable. For ceiling mount with a chain (not supplied), the chain length can be adjusted.
  • Operation:
    • Manual Operation: Plug into a 240V AC wall socket. Switch the wall socket on to turn the heater on, and off to turn it off. Unplug the lead when not in use.
    • Remote Control Operation (R models): Plug into a 240V AC wall socket and switch the wall socket on. Turn the unit switch on (it will glow Red, indicating Standby Function On). Use the remote control to press "ON" to turn the heater on (a small blue LED will glow) and "OFF" to turn it off (the small LED light will go out). Turn the unit switch off and then the wall socket off, and unplug the lead when not in use.
  • Tilting Head: The heater head can be tilted through 30°. To adjust, loosen and remove the locking bolt, then loosen (but do not remove) the head tilt bolt. Once the desired angle is achieved, tighten the head tilt bolt and re-insert/tighten the locking bolt if possible to prevent unintentional movement. Always ensure the heater is switched off, disconnected from the mains, and cool (allow 1 hour after use) before tilting.
  • Safety: The heater complies with Australian and International standards. It is designed for domestic/household use. A 30mA circuit breaker and/or residual current device (RCD) must be connected to the electrical system. Outdoor power points must be weatherproof and installed by a qualified electrician. The heater is not designed to run off an extension cord, as this can cause power voltage loss and appliance damage. It should not be covered or used in areas with flammable gases, damp conditions without ventilation, or within 1m of a water source. It is not designed to be used with 3rd party timers or programmable systems.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Always ensure the heater is switched off, disconnected from the mains power supply, and has cooled down for at least one hour before cleaning. Wipe the unit over with a damp, clean, soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, a mild dishwashing solution on a damp cloth can be used. NEVER allow water or cleaning solution to enter or drip onto the heater. Do not use solvents (e.g., Petrol, Toluene, Methylated Spirits) as they can damage the surface finish and pose a fire risk.
  • General: Keep the heater clean and free from dust. Regularly check the power cord for any damage; if damaged, it must be replaced by an authorised service facility. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified persons using original spare parts to avoid danger to the operator.

The Gasmate Optimum Radiant Heater is a robust and reliable heating solution, offering flexible installation and user-friendly operation, backed by a 12-month warranty. Customers are advised to retain their purchase receipt for warranty claims and to contact Gasmate Customer Service (Australia Only: 1300 174 876, Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm AEST) for any queries or assistance.
