  Several reasons may prevent your GE Air Conditioner from starting. First, ensure the unit is properly plugged into the outlet. Check your house fuse or circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if needed. After a power failure, the unit will automatically restart with the last used settings, but there's a 3-minute delay to protect the compressor. Also, check the current interrupter device by pressing the RESET button on the power cord plug. If the RESET button won't stay engaged, stop using the air conditioner and contact a qualified service technician.

  If your GE Air Conditioner isn't cooling as it should, several factors could be the cause. Make sure that curtains, blinds, or furniture are not blocking the front of the unit, restricting airflow. Check the temperature control and turn it to a higher number. Clean the air filter at least every 30 days. Remember that it takes time for a hot room to cool down when the air conditioner is first turned on. Ensure cold air isn't escaping through open furnace registers or cold air returns.
