How to fix GE AHV05 that does not start?
    • J
      Joanna RamirezJul 28, 2025
If your GE Air Conditioner isn't starting, first ensure it's fully plugged into the outlet. Check your house's fuse or circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if needed. After a power failure, the unit will restart with the last used settings, but there is a 3-minute delay to protect the compressor. Also, check the power cord plug's RESET button; if it won't stay engaged, stop using the air conditioner and contact a qualified technician.

Why is my GE AHV05 Air Conditioner not cooling properly?
    • G
      Gregory CameronAug 3, 2025
If your GE Air Conditioner isn't cooling well, make sure nothing is blocking the front of the unit, like curtains or furniture. Try turning the temperature control to a higher number. Clean the air filter at least every 30 days. Remember that the room needs time to cool down when you first turn on the air conditioner. Check for open furnace registers and cold air returns where cold air might be escaping. If the cooling coils have iced up, see the section on 'Air conditioner freezing up'.

      woodsarahAug 12, 2025
If your GE Air Conditioner is freezing up, it means ice is blocking the airflow, preventing it from cooling the room. For models with control knobs, set the mode control to High Fan or High Cool and the temperature to 1 or 2.

Why does water collect in the base pan of my GE AHV05 Air Conditioner?
    • K
      kimberly57Aug 17, 2025
If water collects in the base pan of your GE Air Conditioner, this is normal. It happens because of moisture removed from the air. It might occur for a short time in less humid areas and for longer in very humid areas.
