What to do if my GE AHP08 Air Conditioner does not start?
    • C
      Christopher JamesAug 10, 2025
If your GE Air Conditioner isn't starting, ensure it's fully plugged into the outlet. Also, check the house fuse or circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if needed. Note that after power is restored, there's a 3-minute protective delay before normal cooling begins. Finally, if the current interrupter device has tripped, press the RESET button on the power cord plug. If the reset button doesn't stay engaged, stop using the air conditioner and contact a qualified technician.

      Jessica BrownAug 15, 2025
If your GE Air Conditioner isn't cooling properly, make sure that curtains, blinds, or furniture aren't blocking the front of the unit. Adjust the temperature control to a higher number. Clean the air filter at least every 30 days. Allow time for the room to cool down when the air conditioner is first turned on. Check for open furnace registers and cold air returns.

If your GE Air Conditioner is freezing up, set the mode control to High Fan or High Cool with the temperature setting as high as it can be set. This will address ice blockage that stops the air conditioner from cooling the room.
