What to do if my GE Air Conditioner does not start?

  If your GE Air Conditioner isn't starting, ensure it's fully plugged into the outlet. Check your house's fuse or circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if needed. If there was a power failure, the unit will restart with the previous settings after power is restored, but there's a 3-minute delay to protect the compressor. Also, check the current interrupter device and press the RESET button on the power cord plug. If the reset button won't stay engaged, stop using the air conditioner and contact a qualified technician.

  If your GE Air Conditioner isn't cooling properly, make sure that curtains, blinds, or furniture aren't blocking the front of the unit. Adjust the temperature control to a higher setting. Clean the air filter every 30 days. Remember that the room needs time to cool down when the air conditioner is first turned on. Check for open furnace registers and cold air returns that may be letting cold air escape.

  If you notice water collecting in the base pan of your GE Air Conditioner, this is normal. It happens because moisture is being removed from the air. It's normal for a short period in areas with little humidity and for a longer period in very humid areas.
