Why is my GE AHV05LZ Air Conditioner not cooling properly?
    • T
      Tracy ValenciaJul 29, 2025
There are several reasons why your GE air conditioner might not be cooling as it should. Check if anything is blocking the front of the unit, such as curtains, blinds, or furniture. Ensure the temperature control is set correctly by turning it to a higher number. A dirty air filter can also restrict airflow, so clean the filter at least every 30 days. If the room was hot, allow time for it to cool down after turning on the air conditioner. Also, check for open furnace registers and cold air returns that may be allowing cold air to escape. Finally, cooling coils may have iced up.

Why does water collect in the base pan of my GE AHV05LZ Air Conditioner?
    • Q
      qmirandaAug 9, 2025
Water collecting in the base pan of your GE air conditioner is normal. It's due to moisture removed from the air draining into the pan. This is normal for a short period in areas with little humidity, and for a longer period in very humid areas.

What to do if my GE AHV05LZ does not start?
    • Z
      Zachary BakerAug 16, 2025
If your GE air conditioner isn't starting, first, ensure it's fully plugged into the outlet. Check your house's fuse or circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if needed. In case of a power failure, the unit will restart automatically with the previous settings once power returns, but there's a 3-minute protective delay for the compressor. Also, check the current interrupter device and press the RESET button on the power cord plug. If the reset button doesn't stay engaged, stop using the air conditioner and contact a qualified technician.

Why is my GE AHV05LZ dripping water inside?
    • K
      Kevin RuizAug 22, 2025
If your GE air conditioner is dripping water inside, make sure it's properly tilted to the outside. The air conditioner should slant slightly from the front to the rear for proper water disposal.
