What to do if my GE AHQ06 does not start?

  If your GE Air Conditioner doesn't start, first ensure it's properly plugged into the outlet. Check your house's fuse or circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if needed. If there was a power failure, the unit should restart automatically with the last used settings once power is restored. Also, check the current interrupter device and press the RESET button on the power cord plug. If the reset button won't stay engaged, stop using the air conditioner and contact a qualified technician.

  If your GE Air Conditioner isn't cooling properly, check these potential causes: * Make sure that curtains, blinds, or furniture are not blocking the front of the unit. * Adjust the temperature control to a higher number. * Clean the air filter at least every 30 days. * Allow sufficient time for the room to cool down, especially when first turning on the unit. * Check for open furnace registers and cold air returns. * Iced up cooling coils may also be the reason.

  If water drips inside from your GE Air Conditioner, ensure the unit slants slightly from the front to the rear for proper disposal.
