How to fix a GE AHD06 that won't start?

  If your GE Air Conditioner doesn't start, first ensure it's fully plugged into the outlet. Then, check your house's fuse or circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if needed. Also, if there was a power failure, the unit should restart automatically with the last used settings once power is restored. Finally, check the current interrupter device; press the RESET button on the power cord plug. If the reset button doesn't stay engaged, stop using the air conditioner and contact a qualified technician.

  If your GE Air Conditioner isn't cooling as expected, make sure that curtains, blinds, or furniture aren't blocking the front of the unit, restricting indoor airflow. Also, check the temperature control and turn it to a higher number. A dirty air filter can also cause this issue, so clean the filter at least every 30 days. Remember that when first turned on, the unit needs time to cool the room. Check for open furnace registers and cold air returns that may be letting cold air escape. Finally, inspect the cooling coils for ice buildup.

  If you notice water dripping outside your GE Air Conditioner, especially during hot, humid weather, this is normal.
