    • J
      John ButlerAug 16, 2025
If your GE Freezer isn't operating, first check the fuse or circuit breaker and replace or reset it if necessary. Ensure the freezer is properly plugged into the outlet. Also, check if the 'Demo' LED light is on, indicating it's in Demo mode. To exit Demo mode, press the “Alarm Reset” button first, then immediately press and hold both the "START" and "STOP" buttons, along with the "Control Lock" button, simultaneously for 5 seconds, and then release. The 'Demo' light should turn off.

How to prevent excessive frost buildup in my GE FUF21 Freezer?
    • Z
      zsmithAug 19, 2025
If you notice excessive frost buildup in your GE Freezer, it might be due to a door left open or frequent and prolonged door openings. Check if any packages are obstructing the door. Try to open the door less often. High humidity can also cause frost; if this is the case, wipe the surface dry.

What to do if foods are defrosting in my GE FUF21 Freezer?
    • A
      Adam ConwayAug 22, 2025
If foods are defrosting in your GE Freezer, a power outage might have caused a high internal temperature, indicated by a flashing temperature display and a high temp alarm. Ensure the freezer is properly plugged into the outlet. Check the fuse or circuit breaker and replace or reset it if necessary. Also, make sure the door is not left open, and avoid opening the door too frequently or for too long.

Why is the temperature in my GE FUF21 Freezer too warm?
    • Q
      qalexanderAug 26, 2025
If your GE Freezer temperature is too warm, there might be several reasons. Make sure the door is not left open or that items aren't preventing it from closing properly. Avoid opening the door too frequently or for extended periods. Check the temperature control setting and adjust it to a colder setting, allowing several hours for the temperature to stabilize. Also, consider if large amounts of water or hot food were recently stored, and allow the freezer time to reach the desired temperature. Finally, if the freezer was recently disconnected, remember that it requires 4 hours to cool down completely.

Why is my GE FUF21 so noisy or vibrating?
    • T
      Todd ThompsonAug 28, 2025
If your GE Freezer is making unusual noises or vibrating, the floor might be weak, causing vibration when the compressor is running. Ensure the freezer is on a solid floor and adjust the leveling legs as needed. The cabinet might not be positioned firmly; adjust the legs or use shims for an uneven floor, referring to the Installing the Freezer section. Also, ensure the freezer isn't touching the wall; level it or move it slightly, consulting the Level Freezer section.

Why doesn't the interior light in my GE FUF21 Freezer work?
    • T
      Timothy MartinezAug 31, 2025
If the interior light in your GE Freezer isn't working, first, check if there's power at the outlet by replacing the fuse or resetting the breaker. Ensure the freezer is plugged in properly. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the LED light may have burned out and needs replacement.

    • A
      austindiazSep 3, 2025
If you notice odors in your GE Freezer, it may be because the interior needs cleaning. Clean the interior with a sponge, warm water, and baking soda. Alternatively, foods with strong odors may be present; ensure these foods are tightly covered.

Why does my GE Freezer start and stop so frequently?
    • S
      Stephen TaylorSep 6, 2025
If your GE Freezer is starting and stopping too frequently, it could be due to a few reasons. Check if the door is being held open by any packages. Try to reduce how often you open the freezer door, and for how long. Also, the temperature control might be set too cold. Refer to the Temperature Control section for guidance.

Why is my GE FUF21 operating for too long?
    • P
      Pamela CarrSep 9, 2025
If your GE Freezer is running for extended periods, several factors could be the cause. Check that the door isn't being held open by any items. Reduce the frequency and duration of door openings. The temperature control might be set too cold; refer to the Temperature Control section. Ensure adequate air circulation around the cabinet by consulting the Installing the Freezer section. Hot room or outside weather can also make the freezer work harder, which is normal. If the freezer was recently disconnected, it takes about 4 hours to fully cool down. Also, large amounts of warm or hot food can cause the freezer to run longer until the desired temperature is reached.

    • T
      Troy BaileySep 12, 2025
