How to fix cloudiness on glassware in my GE Dishwasher?
    • D
      David MillerSep 3, 2025
Cloudiness, or etching, can be caused by a combination of soft water and too much detergent, which is permanent. To prevent it, use less detergent if you have soft water and wash glassware in the shortest cycle that will get it clean. Also, water temperature entering dishwasher exceeding 150°F can be the reason. Lower the water heater temperature.

Normal operating sounds include the hard food disposer shredding, the drain valve opening to pump water out, the timer control as the cycle progresses, the detergent cup opening, the motor stopping during the drying period and water draining out of tub immediately after touching the start/reset pad. No action is required.

What to do if my GE GSD3300KWW sanitized light does not illuminate at the end of the cycle?
    • M
      Michelle StewartSep 13, 2025
The door may have been opened, interrupting the cycle during the final rinse. Do not interrupt the cycle by opening the door during the wash cycle. The incoming water temperature may have been too low. Raise the water heater temperature to between 120°F and 150°F.

How to fix suds in the tub of my GE Dishwasher?
    • A
      Anthony RodriguezSep 8, 2025
Suds are usually caused by using the wrong detergent or spilling rinse agent. Use only automatic dishwasher detergents like Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent to avoid sudsing. To remove suds, open the dishwasher, let them dissipate, and add 1 gallon of cold water. On models with a dial: Close and latch the dishwasher. Pump out water by slowly turning the dial until a drain period is reached. Repeat if necessary. On Models with Electronic Control: Pump out water by pressing the START/RESET pad, then 10 seconds later, press START/RESET pad again. Repeat if necessary. Always wipe up rinse agent spills immediately.

These marks occur when aluminum utensils rub against dishes. Remove them with a mild, abrasive cleaner.

Why are my dishes and flatware not clean in my GE Dishwasher?
    • J
      Jaime BellAug 21, 2025
Several factors can cause this. The inlet water temperature might be too low; raise your water heater to 120°F and use HOT START, POTS & PANS, or HEAVY WASH and HI TEMP WASH. The detergent could be low performing, old, or damp; try using a highly rated detergent like Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent. Also, low water pressure, a clogged air gap or disposer, or improper rack loading can be culprits. Normal water pressure to the dishwasher should be 20-120 psi. Make sure large dishware does not block the detergent dispenser or the wash arm.
