Why is my GE JGBP30 Ranges smoking excessively?
    • M
      Melissa LivingstonSep 4, 2025
Excessive smoking in your GE Ranges is often due to excessive soil. On models with touch pads, touch the Clear/Off pad. On models with an OVEN TEMP knob, turn it to OFF. Open the windows to rid the room of smoke. Wait until the SELF CLEAN light goes off. Wipe up the excess soil and reset the clean cycle.

What to do if surface burners light but oven does not on GE JGBP30 Ranges?
    • E
      Elizabeth SchneiderSep 6, 2025
If the surface burners on your GE Ranges light but the oven does not, the oven gas shut-off valve may have been accidentally moved during cleaning or moving. On sealed burner models, remove the warming drawer, storage drawer, or kick panel to check the gas shut-off lever at the back of the range.
