This applianceis equippedwitha
powercord havinga grounding
wire with a groundingplug.The
plug mustbe pluggedintoan outlet
that is properly installedand

Do not use an adapter plug inthese

thepowercord placesunduestrain
on the adapterand leadsto eventual
hike oftheadaptergroundterminal.
Youshouldhavethe two-prongwall
receptaclereplacedwith a three-
prong (grounding)receptacleby a
qualifiedelectrician beforeusing
the appliance.

Becauseof potentialsafetyhazards

recommend againstthe use of an
extensioncord. However,if it is
necessa~yto use an extensioncord,
useonly a 3-wireextensioncord
that has a 3-bladegroundingplug,
and a 3-slot receptaclethat will
acceptthe plug on the appliance.
The marked ratingof the extension
cord shallbe equalto or greater
than the electrical ratingofthe
appliance (15amperes).

The largerslot in the adaptermust
be alignedwith the largerslotin the
wall receptacle to provideproper
polarity in the connectionofthe
powercord.
Suchextensioncords are obtainable
through General Electric service.
If you do use an extensioncord
with your microwaveoven, the
interior light may flicker and the
blowersound mayvary when oven
is in use. Cook times may be longer
as well.
Caution: Attachingthe adapter
ground terminal to the wall
receptacle cover screw does not
ground the appliance unlessthe
cover screw is metal, and not
insulated, and the wallreceptacle
isgrounded through the house
wiring. Youshould havethe circuit
checked by a qualified electrician
to make sure the receptacle is
properly grounded.
