Operation and Maintenance
2. Economy
Improper infl ation pressures can cause uneven wear patterns to develop across
the tire tread. These abnormal wear patterns will reduce tread life resulting
in premature replacement. Under-infl ation increases tire rolling-resistance,
resulting in lower vehicle range.
3. Ride Comfort and Vehicle Stability
Proper tire infl ation contributes to a comfortable ride. Over-infl ation produces a
jarring and uncomfortable ride. Both under-infl ation and over-infl ation affect the
stability of the vehicle and can produce a feeling of sluggish response or over
responsiveness. Replace valve stem caps after tire maintenance to prevent
dirt from damaging valve stem or preventing the stem from closing properly.
Improperly infl ated tires are dangerous and can cause accidents. Always
drive with each tire infl ated to the recommended pressure on your VIN
sticker.
WARNING!
REPLACEMENT TIRES
The tires on your new vehicle provide a balance of many characteristics. They
should be inspected regularly for wear and correct infl ation pressure. GEM
strongly recommends that you use tires equivalent to the originals in quality
and performance when replacement is needed. Failure to use equivalent
replacement tires may adversely affect the safety, handling, and ride of your
vehicle. We recommend that you contact your dealer or GEM Customer Service
regarding any questions you may have on tire specifi cations or capability.
