When the cut is complete unlock the half nuts and move the vice table fully
forward. Loosen the Back Wing-Nut and the Front Locking Knob and wind in
the Crossfeed Handle until you get the required thickness of rock slice. Move
the sliding vice table up to the blade, lock the half nuts, lower the lid and start
the cut again.
PULLEY SPEEDS
The GS10 saw has a fixed blade speed. The blade speed is set to give the
most economical cutting with MK diamond saw blades and the sintered
continuous rim diamond saw blades and efficient cutting for the Diatrenn
diamond saw blades.
The power feed pulleys have two speeds (See FIG.2). The slow speed, about
6mm per minute, is used for any hard material, or for material that is larger
than 3” high. The faster speed, about 9mm per minute, can be used for all
other rocks.
HELPFUL HINTS
Before filling the sump with coolant, lay a hessian sack inside the sump. When
you wish to clean out the sump, first drain the coolant out and grab the
corners of the sack and lift out. This traps most of the sludge in the sack
leaving the sump clean. Lay the sack outside to dry the sludge and dispose
of thoughtfully.
Sharpen the blade regularly, either by using a dressing stick or a soft red
house brick. Most blade damage is caused by trying to cut with a blunt
blade.
