Ensure that hair is completely dry before using the
ghd platinum™ styler.

1. Plug the ghd platinum™ styler into the power supply. The ghd
platinum™ styler will momentarily ash around the ON/OFF switch to
indicate that it is connected to a power supply and is in standby mode.
2. To turn on the ghd platinum™ styler, press and hold the ON/OFF button
for at least 1 second. The ghd platinum™ styler will play a short start-
up tune and a light will pulse to indicate that the styler is heating up.
3. IMPORTANT: the ghd platinum™ styler reaches the required
temperature in seconds so be careful not to touch the heater plates.
Once the ghd platinum™ styler has reached temperature, it will bleep
and the light will remain illuminated to indicate that it is ready to use.
4. When you have nished your styling session, press and hold the ON/
OFF button until the ghd platinum™ styler plays the shut-down tune.
Once turned OFF, unplug the ghd platinum™ styler from the power
supply and allow it to cool in a safe place.

out of reach of children,
especially when cooling.
For safe cooling, cover the plates with the heat proof plate
guard. WARNING: even with the plate guard on, the styler heater
plates are still very hot, do not touch the plates or allow children
or those with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge to touch the styler whilst
it is cooling.
the ghd platinum™ styler has the following safety features:
1. Sleep mode: if the ghd platinum™ styler has been left on and
has not been used for more than 30 minutes, a safety feature will
automatically turn the styler o. The styler will play the shut-down
tune, the heating plates will start to cool and the light will slowly pulse.
a. To re-start the ghd platinum™ styler while it is in sleep mode,
simply press the ON/OFF button for at least 1 second until the
start-up tune sounds.
b. Note that although the ghd platinum™ styler is turned o, it is
still connected to the mains and should be unplugged from mains
electricity at the earliest opportunity.
2. Fail safe: in the unlikely event of a control system error, for safety
the heaters will turn o and the ghd platinum™ styler will emit
rapid bleeps and the light will ash red every second. If this occurs
switch o the ghd platinum™ styler at the power supply and
re-start. If the unit does not re-start or the problem persists,
contact ghd Customer Service for advice.

Cleaning your ghd platinum™ styler
1. Unplug the ghd platinum™ styler from the mains power supply.
2. Always allow the ghd platinum™ styler to cool before attempting
to clean it.
3. Never immerse the appliance in water.
4. Wipe the outside of the ghd platinum™ styler with a damp cloth.
Do not use sharp or abrasive detergents or corrosive products.
Storage
1. Always allow the ghd platinum™ styler to cool down before
storing away.
2. When the ghd platinum™ styler has cooled down, fold the power
cord in the same way as it was rst delivered in its packaging.
Do not wrap the supply cord around the ghd platinum™ styler as
this can strain the cord and cause premature supply cord failure.

Your ghd styling appliance is a high performance product and if the
unit is subjected to large uctuation in mains power during use it may
go into fail-safe mode to protect the unit from damage. Therefore, in
the unlikely event that your ghd product does not operate correctly,
check that your ghd product and mains power supply are switched on,
and that power is available.
If your product stops working and the red fault light ashes, please
follow the procedure below:
1. Switch o the unit
2. Unplug the unit from the plug socket
3. Wait for 5 seconds and then plug the unit back into the wall
4. Switch the unit back on
If this occurs repeatedly, please contact your local ghd service centre.
For UK plugs, please ensure that the tted fuse is intact and
functioning; if it is not replace it with an identically rated British
Standard Fuse.

factory. However in the unlikely event of the product proving defective
