Why does my Gilian Measuring Instruments pump continuously display 'NIMH analysis'?
    • A
      ariel13Sep 23, 2025
If your Gilian Measuring Instruments pump continuously displays “NIMH analysis” and a steady red LED for long periods, with intermittent off periods, it indicates that the battery has deeply discharged due to lack of use or is damaged. Leave the pump on charge for two hours. If the red fast charge or green LED does not appear, replace the battery pack.

What to do if Gilian GilAir Plus Measuring Instruments pump shows Fault in display or Enters HOLD?
    • N
      Nicholas MurphyAug 25, 2025
If your Gilian Measuring Instruments pump displays a fault or enters HOLD, the inlet filter may be clogged, so replace the filter. Also, the intake may be obstructed, so examine the sample holder and remove any obstruction, or run the pump at a lower flow rate. The flow rate might be too high for the sample media, so you should correct the flow rate per sample method guidelines. Check that the sample media tubing is not pinched shut. The valve cannot be changed during sample, only before starting event. Also, valve may be affected by strong magnetic fields. Finally, it could be due to a low battery, so charge the battery.

Why does my Gilian GilAir Plus run time too short?
    • C
      clivingstonAug 26, 2025
If the run time of your Gilian Measuring Instruments pump is too short, it could be that the battery pack is not fully charged, so charge the battery. The batteries may have deeply discharged, meaning the battery pack may need to be reconditioned. Battery pack capacity might be too low, at the end of its life, so replace the battery. Also, the battery contacts may be contaminated, so clean the charging contacts. A bent battery belt clip preventing effective charging on docking station might also be the reason, so replace the battery or belt clip (for batteries with replaceable belt clips).

What to do if Gilian Measuring Instruments pump runs erratic and faults?
    • C
      Christina WalkerAug 27, 2025
If your Gilian Measuring Instruments pump runs erratically and faults, don’t run pump with Dock Connected. Note, if running a pump with version 2.4 or higher software and using a dock of version 3.5 or higher, the pump is supported to run on dock and this is not the reason for the problem. Check sample media or increase flow rate (minimum back pressure requirement is 2 inches of water) because there might be insufficient backpressure for stable operation.

Why Gilian Measuring Instruments pump does not achieve flow specifications?
    • N
      Nicole SalinasAug 27, 2025
If your Gilian Measuring Instruments pump does not achieve the specified flow, it could be due to a battery that is not sufficiently charged, so charge the battery. Also, there might be a leak in the pump, so tighten the input manifold screws, but do not overtighten. If tightening screws does not solve leakage issue, return for service.

Why does my Gilian GilAir Plus pump run flat out?
    • J
      John ButlerSep 14, 2025
If your Gilian Measuring Instruments pump runs flat out, it could be due to: * An internal flow transducer problem; in this case, back pressure may be too high, so remove any restrictions or lower the flow rate. * Improper calibration; recalibrate the pump. If these steps do not solve the problem, there may be a control board issue.

What does "Check Device" displayed in SmartCal of Gilian GilAir Plus mean?
    • A
      Amy LeeSep 12, 2025
If your Gilian Measuring Instruments displays "Check Device" in SmartCal or shows no flow readings, recondition the battery, because the battery was deeply discharged due to lack of use, has reached the end of its useful life, or is damaged.

Why is the run time too short on my Gilian GilAir Plus Measuring Instruments?
    • A
      arossSep 13, 2025
If your Gilian Measuring Instruments pump's run time is too short, it could be due to the following reasons: * The battery pack might not be fully charged. Ensure you charge the battery. * The batteries may have discharged and the battery pack needs to be reconditioned. * The battery pack capacity might be too low, indicating it's at the end of its life. In this case, replace the battery.

What to do if Gilian Measuring Instruments displayed flow rate does not match calibration?
    • V
      Victoria RoseSep 5, 2025
If the displayed flow rate of your Gilian Measuring Instruments pump does not match the calibration, select a tube holder that incorporates a needle valve, because the wrong sample tube holder may be selected for the constant pressure control adapter.

What to do if Gilian Measuring Instruments pump displays 'Power mismatch' and flashes backlight when placed on Dock?
    • J
      Joshua BoyerSep 2, 2025
If your Gilian Measuring Instruments pump displays 'Power mismatch' and flashes the backlight when placed on the dock, allow more time for the pump to stabilize and try again, because the requested change is a change of more than 5%, which is an unusual condition.
