This document is an instruction and installation manual for a GIONIEN Induction Hob, model GITS352G3-US.
Function Description
The GIONIEN Induction Hob is a cooking appliance that uses electromagnetic vibrations to generate heat directly in the pan, rather than indirectly through heating the glass surface. This method ensures efficient and economical cooking, as the glass surface itself only warms up from the pan. The hob features two cooking zones, each with induction technology. It is designed for domestic use and offers various power levels and functions to facilitate different cooking tasks.
Key functions include:
- Induction Cooking: Utilizes electromagnetic fields to heat cookware directly, offering faster and more energy-efficient cooking.
- Power Levels: Offers multiple power settings from 1 to 9, plus a "P" (Boost) function, allowing precise control over cooking intensity.
- Timer Function: Allows users to set a cooking duration for one or more cooking zones, with a maximum setting of 99 minutes.
- Child Lock: A safety feature that locks the controls to prevent unintended operation, especially by children.
- Boost Function: Provides a temporary surge of power to a cooking zone for rapid heating, useful for boiling water quickly.
- Automatic Shutdown: A safety protection function that automatically turns off the hob if left unattended for a set period, with working times varying by power level.
- Over-Temperature Protection: A temperature sensor monitors the hob's internal temperature and automatically stops operation if it exceeds a safe limit.
- Detection of Small Articles: The hob can detect unsuitable or non-magnetic small items (e.g., knife, fork, key) on the hob, automatically shutting down the hob after 1 minute.

Maintenance Features
General Care:
- Use cookware with flat and smooth bases to prevent scratching the glass.
- Avoid using rough-edged cookware or abrasive scourers/cleaning products.
- Keep the touch control area dry for optimal operation.
Troubleshooting (Common Issues):
- Hob not turning on: Check power supply and ensure it's switched on. Check for power outages.
- Difficult touch controls: Ensure the control area is dry and use the ball of your finger.
- Glass scratching: Use cookware with flat, smooth bases and avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Crackling/clicking noises: Normal for some cookware due to different metal layers vibrating.
- Low humming noise: Normal for induction cooking at high heat settings; noise should quieten when heat is decreased.
- Fan noise: Normal; the cooling fan operates to prevent overheating and may continue after the hob is turned off. Do not switch off power at the wall while the fan is running.
- Pans not heating/display error: Ensure cookware is suitable for induction, correctly sized for the zone, and properly centered.
